2019-20 will see us with some very good players. Yes. We will lose Persons and Moses, 2 good players. Surely we have good chances to replace them. You don't want to rely on Freshman and at this point the only guy that may be an upgrade is Walton and he has severe limitations. Exactly what positions do you believe Coleman, Acree and Gunn are going to play. All three of those guys are role players. Do you think Hazen and Teague are going to play center ? Ish may be okay be he can't play the two spot. Positions? They are all basketball players. Gunn obviously a forward. Coleman, Acree are more guards, can defend multiple positions. Teague, Hazen not centers, although obviously Teague played there in Moses absence, but a post player is a recruiting priority. 2019 we may see Huggins play. What teams have sure fire starters at every position for 2019 now?

Position-less players have gotten us how far, exactly?
The league teams we seem to continue to finish behind appear to have no trouble planning for and recruiting rosters containing players who fit certain positions and roles very well along with having versatile “basketball players.” For some reason poor ol bsu cant?

When................How do you explain Acree, Coleman, Gunn, Ish, Walton, and Hazen ? Gunn can shoot. Others solve problems we had in lacking athletes, playing D, running the court... Can't have everything in every player. You are just completely clueless.

First of all Gunn , oh really is he a 3, because he is usually playing out front and can't create his own shot. Just admit you have no clue if either Coleman or Acree can play defense. That's the same garbage you gave us about Gunn at seasons's start.

And you know what the roster will be like in 2019? I am not even sure about 2018. But what the good teams have we have not is better athletes. Not necessarily any position purity. We are improving in athleticism. Should help.

He can shoot, and I think can improve on the dribble. He's hardly the key this year, and you sure are betting on him failing to improve.

If you have a team of "position-less players," then by definition, every player is playing out of position.
Not a good way to build a team. It's more like throwing the pantry into a bowl and calling it salad.
We ain't got salad, brother.

The 1,2,3,4,5 system is a rough and ready rule on defense, but the game is still not 1 on 1. Where we fail to match Buffalo is we cannot defend their perimeter players, cannot stop the drive very well either... Hurt very badly at the end by losing two decent athletes at guard, but we did not have a really good defensive player at guard all year and play a defense where we are supposed to help on the drive. To a lesser degree we could not stop their offensive rebounding, and when we extended we were hurt inside badly. If we do help on the post, we cannot recover to the perimeter. We will be improved in some of that next year by playing better athletes, and of course every team could use a player who can do very well guarding the post, along with that improved help and recover. On offense, in the past we have been reliant on the 3 point shot, it looks like we have now gone to scoring more inside with Teague and Moses. What we have been unable to do is get much offense from our defense and to run when we have a fast break opportunity. All that has little to do with position, a lot to do with how athletic we have been(NOT), especially after losing Tyler and Walker. I want more shooting than we look like we are going to have, but then recruiting is not done. Let's see.

I said forward, Stretch 4, probably, but who's stuck on purity of position definition? Gunn is a stretch four, wtf, are you on acid ? I said a forward, "probably" more a stretch 4. He guarded bigger forwards more often than not, and they had to go out after him because he could shoot. In HS he looked a little better on drive, needs to improve. He will have less PT this year, because Hazen is available. When Gunn plays he will play more outside as a shooting threat than in, but I suspect the opponent will have to put a quicker forward on Teague, or Mallers, when Gunn is in the game. So. As I said, he will "probably" be more a stretch forward than your "Pure 3" player. Can that happen? He improves on the drive and plays well as a stretch 4? Sure. You will recall your incessant criticism of Mallers, who this year, paired often with Sellers and Teague, or Sellers and Moses, and did show some ability both outside shooting, and on drives to the basket as well as offensive rebounding.

Gunn is a stretch four, wtf, are you on acid ? I said a forward, "probably" more a stretch 4. He guarded bigger forwards more often than not, 1) He didn't guard them well. 2) You have just proven why position players are an imperative. There is no way in hell Gunn should ever be forced to guard a D1 four. It's Whitford's recruiting failures, not Gunn's skill set that forces those match-ups. Thanks ................................

I'm telling you man, life is much better if you ignore everything 00 says. Literally the only 00 I read these days is what other people quote or the first 6 words of the post if I didn't look at who wrote it. Six words is generally all I need to spot the inanity. It's blissful.

The guy said if a player doesn't have a clear position this is a disaster. Implied that players have to "have a position, rigidly defined." Just not true. Teams play zone, for example, don't even defend position by position. Ball oriented man defense is similar. Lots of help. Many, most, teams have at least one player who is not clearly defined on offense.

Who he guards and how he plays on offense define a stretch 4. Gunn was not a perfect player as a front line reserve. Nobody says he was. You claimed he was not a stretch 4. Yet a stretch 4 is exactly what he was, defended the 4, "stretched" the defense at the other end to draw big guys outside. He is a forward. Plays either position there. I'll agree completely he needs to defend better, think he is fine on offense if he can take a big guy away from the basket.
