I truly think our staff tends to stick with guys too long.

Well, good to see them fight through a difficult start. Can't spot NW 17 though.
Good win.

I missed the first the three quarters everything looked great to me lol Stay away next time! I put the phone on the charger down 17 and left it there. We all gotta know what works. ;-) My son had a metro game, followed by my daughters school carnival at first pres. I checked the score saw it was 17-0 figured it was over and decided not to look again and just catch the replay on espn 3 tonight. Got a text saying wow this neal kid is good from a buddy in Florida so I broke down and turned it on. Best 4th quarter D Ive seen out of A BSU team in a few years.. Still not sure what we have as we all expected to be 2-2 at this point but we have two really tough games coming up.

I'm impressed with the freshman QB, as with anyone. Milas will make a good backup. I don't think he fully recovered from his injury...

I wasn't serious about starting the fire Lembo talks, but geez, that first half made me think I'd gone into a time warp and SP360 was back on our sideline.

If Neal doesn't start at Northwestern, the "Fire Lembo" thread will be 20 pages.
I guess Milas started so he could have one last chance to prove himself against a MAC opponent, but he just was not up to the task.
That 41 yard rumble for a TD was one of the most impressive runs I've seen by a QB. He willed himself into the endzone, and Neal just looks comfortable out on the field.
So, aside from the poor start and the absolutely atrocious broadcast (seriously, no replay effect? The folks at ESPN must have been losing their minds...), it was a good day!

I give the staff a lot of credit on the QB front. I thought Milas showed a lot of promise last year and was certain he'd be our QB throughout the year. The staff gave him time to prove it, but knew what they had in Neal, and went to him right away in Game 2. Milas is a very solid backup, but we're seeing some things from Neal that I wasn't seeing from Keith early on. By no means does that mean he'll reach the heights KW did, but he's done some special things in his first couple of games. The running threat makes our zone option read that much more dangerous. That 41 yard TD run was Jordan Lynch esque.

In a nutshell - I said then and still believe that Riley has as much if not more potential at this stage than any QB I have ever seen at BSU since my student days in the 60's. He did not disappoint when he came in at Texas A&M and certainly did not yesterday. He can be a very special player and again I say thanks to his dad and uncle (former FB Cards) who obviously have had strong influence on him.

I know Riley is a tough kid and having a dual threat guy finally is awesome. What worries me is the kind of hits he takes running. I know it is his style, but I really hope he develops a slide mentality in more situations. He's a big kid, but the guys hitting him are also stronger and bigger than he faced in HS.

I saw his parents after the game and asked if maybe he could start sliding at the end of those plays, I told them Im going to have a heart attack if I see him do another head roll at the end of the play. We were all laughing of course and they said just tell your son to keep blocking. It was a all in good fun exchange of words but he scares the heck out me sometimes.
