ballstatesports.com/news/2018/5/24/general-ball-state-teams-continue-success-in-latest-ncaa-apr-report.aspxEight Ball State University athletic teams posted perfect scores of 1,000 for the 2016-17 academic year in the latest NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) report issued this week, highlighted by the women's tennis team achieving the mark for the fourth straight year. The recipient of an NCAA Public Recognition Award last week for ranking among the top 10 percent in APR for its sport, the women's tennis team maintains a perfect four-year rolling average of 1,000, the best of any Ball State program. But in the individual year of 2016-17, the latest reporting year, the Cardinals also registered scores of 1,000 in three men's sports -- basketball, tennis and volleyball -- and four additional women's sports -- cross country, gymnastics, swimming and volleyball. The score for the men's basketball program raised its four-year average to 981, its highest in the APR's history. The team's four-year score ranks second among all Mid-American Conference men's basketball programs, behind only Toledo. Meanwhile, the BSU women's tennis team is tied for first among its MAC peers.
