If plitt has another good game tonight you have to think its a 50/50 shot at that point... Then there is paddock who also might get thrown in the mix

This team came apart at the seams.

This team came apart at the seams. True, but (and I know it's totally unfair) the upperclassmen are Lembo's guys. Maybe the younger guys aren't tainted with the Pete-ness, if you will, and this thing will get off the ground for real next year when it's really all of Neu's dudes running the show. Or maybe not. Shit, who knows. I'm just trying to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I didn’t read that much into Gilbert’s comments. I think all teams who don’t complete successful seasons have some issues. We will see if serious issues develop. I like Mikes approach.

I hate to see players transfer as grad students elsewhere but realize the NCAA rule change encouraged that. Also to date we have have only gotten grad transfers coming to us that I know of. Any one ever transfer as a grad student & play at a FCS school?

From what I saw last night, Gilbert and Dunner both need to work on pass protection.

I feel like Gilbert is gone but it's nothing other than my opinion. And while I might be a dick, I haven't loved the starting QB or the backup although the backup provided some new energy. Riley played 6 more games has a better passing eff and 11/4 TD to INT while Plitt is 6/8 and not setting the world on fire. But, Plitt did get a big win.

What the Plitt fans see and I like is an apparent chemistry and more emotional leadership style, more guts, and all of this is countered by those measurables. And questions of gut, emotion and chemistry about Neal may be issues that change as we see coaching and personnel change. Where I am with Plitt is that he is now definitely in the picture, and Spring practice will for the first time have something really going on at the QB position. As much as we need to improve execution and fundamentals, MAC football is always about QB performance, we predicted that this year. Did not see Neal meet expected levels. Except maybe ND.

Neal is technically and physically a way better qb. But Plitt is a more balls to the wall leader. He makes some really bad decisions but at least he makes decisions and guys respond to that. He’s got more fire and is more involved with the rest of the players it seems.
That said, I won’t be surprised if paddock is the qb next fall. But who knows who the rest of the skill position players will be.

Should be an interesting spring.

Im not a riley fan or a plitt fan. I am all Ball State fan who wants to see us win as many games as we can.. Im not sure either Riley or Plitt gives us what we ultimately need. Riley has the tools but lacks the emotion, guts, Moxy, Balls what ever you to call it. PLitt has less talent but oozes all the intangibles he would be the guy who makes some plays to win a game then the next week turns it over 3 times and kills you. We can hope a real competition can draw some fire out of Riley or some control/better choices out of PLitt.. It will be easier to correct the mistakes and choices out of Plitt than it will be to remove the Opie Taylor out of Riley. The wildcard is Paddock can he jump them both. Should be a fun spring..
