Even though I am not a fan of any of the 3 , those who have argued forcing Neu to fire all 3 as an act of arm twisting have a valid point. If you could only choose 1 to replace, who is your choice? Elson would be mine. The defense clearly regressed as the season went. Western MI would of scored over 50 if Lester had confidence in Wassink's backup.

Elson. Gotta start with the d. It’s been unsound fundamentally from day 1. And players continue to be way out of position and can’t make plays.
The offense has shown it can put points up with the right moxie at the Qb position and more aggressive play calling.

Pretty easily Elson. They were slightly better, but not good enough.

Problem with elson is its his first year and we switched the D so he has built in excuses.. I think based on his record he is not very good but you know

Gotta do SOMETHING to get more wins next season, if not, the fans will run them all out of town on a rail.

First year in the 3/4 though. That will be the excuse.

Nah, Neu wouldn’t fire Elson. We’ll get the “we’re building the D, new system, getting the pieces in place” line.

What was wrong looked to this less expert observer like kids who didn't tackle, went to sleep, were not the same crew we saw at ND.
That seems to me a problem could be deeper than just the coordinator and choice of scheme.

Gotta do SOMETHING to get more wins next season, if not, the fans will run them all out of town on a rail. No doubt, if they cant break .500 in MAC next year, imo everyone takes a hike after 2019. Maybe 4-4 if they steal a big nonconference game. Next year is the offer an extension or terminate the entire staff season because Neu would be a lame duck if no action is taken going into 2020.
