From FootballScoop:
"Bowling Green has announced that Boston College offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler has been hired to lead the program.
A college coaching veteran with stops at Michigan, Central Michigan, Florida, Temple, Auburn, and Virginia Tech, this marks the first head coaching opportunity for Loeffler. In 2008 he coached the quarterbacks for the Detroit Lions, and has been a coordinator at the college level at Temple and Auburn for a season each, before moving onto Virginia Tech and Boston College. In 2016, he joined Addazio’s staff as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
The offense at Boston College got back on track this season under Loeffler after struggling a bit in 2017, averaging 32 points per game after averaging about a touchdown less last season.
Loeffler, who has worked under both Urban Meyer and Lloyd Carr during his coaching journey, replaces Mike Jinks, who went 7-24 in just under three seasons leading the team, including a 1-6 start to this season. Following his dismissal after week seven, defensive coordinator Carl Pelini took over and went 2-3".
He coached QBs in the NFL, so he should be an automatic success in the MAC, or something (late night cynicism). Maybe BG sees the reincarnation of Urban Meyers success there; time will tell.
