NIU down three touchdowns to a team that resurrected its program two years ago. That's so #maction. Yep, we were dissin’ UAB on this very board back then and.....whoosh.....they win their conference and beat the MAC champions and perennial MAC powerhouse in the blink of an eye.

The did major upgrades to their stadium when they had no team playing. That whole town got behind the push to get football back

HUGE difference between there and any D1 town in Indiana. Only South Bend would come close up here.

It looks like the only MAC team to win a bowl game last year (Ohio) is on their way to the first MAC bowl victory this year.

I have some MAC bowl projections: - A tiny number of households nationwide will tune into MAC team bowl games on tv...mostly to use them as video wallpaper as they go about their home lives or as they eat their jalapeno cheese poppers in sports bars, and ESPN will get something to program during otherwise dead sports timeslots.
Other than the miniscule hardcore MAC fanbases, nobody will remember the MAC teams' bowl results ten minutes after the games are over.
A fairly healthy amount of money will transfer from uninterested MAC students and state taxpayers into the pockets of the bowl organizers and local businesses....and that is the main point of the whole exercise.

Eastern kicks off MAC bowl season tonight against SunBelt’s Ga.Southern Northern Ill Tuesday Ohio Wednesday I think MAC was 1-4 last year. Playing prevent defense on a 4th & 10, and allowing the GA Southern QB to scramble cost EMU a come from behind win. GA SO has a good running QB. That defensive call was a mistake. The first down run out GA SO within field goal range with a very good kicker around 40 yards. The loss was on the defensive coach.
