Apply for the Akron job since they fired Bowden. The Miami coach Martin has a big day today because if he does not get fired today the buyout doubles on 12/4 so he is probably safe for another yr.

Come back to Muncie and coach defense! After being fired from places because his defenses have sucked?

Brady probably realizes he should just retire & play golf now.

He really ought to consider that. He’s now been fired from Michigan, Oregon, and the Panthers.

Isn't it clear by now Brady Hoke is just a mediocre football coach. Stan Parrish gave him Nate Davis at Ball State and for a couple of years at SDU and Michigan he did well with the other guy's material. Look back at some of the game time decisions he made while he was the head coach here. Many bonehead judgments were made but the 2008 team was so strong they bailed him out and earlier in his tenure here they did not.

Brady should have stayed at SD State as he hired the right Ast as the DC & their current HC Rocky Long. Long had done a great job at N Mexico ( you win 50% of your games there it is success) as HC prior to his hiring by Brady one yr after his firing when he had only losing season in his 7 yrs. Long @ SD St was a better hire than Parrish @ BSU.

Brady got a shot at a dream job. He had to take it, but it was very predictable he was not the guy to manage the complexity of a top program and deal with the fat cats even though a Michigan guy. He wasn't that good here except of course the motivation. Even here the defense was not really that good, but they played hard and were good enough. I'd love to have that now.

Yeah you can’t not take the Michigan job. But he was in over his head there.

Looks like Hoke has a new job per FootballScoop:
"San Diego State: Brady Hoke, who coached the defensive line for the Carolina Panthers last season, is returning to San Diego State as defensive line coach according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Hoke served as the head coach at San Diego State in 2009-10".

Rocky Long remembered who got him to San Diego. Also who knows Rocky is 69 if Brady plays his cards right he might get a shot at replacing his replacement.

Very odd overall to return, but it's good for Brady. His style, personality, motivational ability is best in college. HC at a lower level than UM is a job Brady can do and do well.
He's a proven quantity, no huge responsibility for fund raising or alumni politics not as much PR and management skill required.
No pitfalls from trying to manage a really excellent staff which are stars in their own right, and not lots of high stakes games where performance gets microscopic scrutiny.
