Thought he was a can’t miss start in day 1 stud. I remember he committed pretty late one night and I was so excited and had no one to tell.. Had to wait for your response at like 530 am I also remember Holmes famous tweet.. I am blessed and honored to be going to Ball State where I will be for 2-3 years then the NFL. Well he was here for two but that NFL thing might be a bit away |

Both parties kinda misjudged that one. Some of those guys didn’t take well to redshirting.

Yea gibbs Had 20 something offers Never played a snap.. Never made the depth chart
holmes 10-15 started the last two of his freshman year.. Penciled into the starting line up for the next three.. We never saw him play again
Demtrius Murray 10-15 offers never has cracked the depth chart
Michael Robinson 10-15 offers IU offered after us.. We had to fight them off till signing day. Played a handful of snaps this year
I could go on but you get the point.. Is it possible that all kinds of schools just missed on these guys or are we doing something wrong

I would think the ratio of players that see the field & those that do not is similar to the ratio in high school for teams in general. I also can’t imagine trying to recruit high school kid that you never know will be what you hope he’ll be/become. I would think expectations for coach & player could be vastly distant depending on what/how the high school program was run.

Well, the good talent evaluators don’t miss on kids ‘that’ much and good developers of talent find ways to get the most talented players ready to get on the field quickly and actually coach them up to perform better each year rather than plateau.

Pretty straight forward on Riley. Good looking numbers but not great performances against the higher level teams.
