seeing as we have several soccer fans and experts on this board and there’s very little live sports action on television today except English soccer leagues .......
.....a genius thought occurred to me to spice up the football fan base of the “Group of Five”.
What if.....the bottom dwellers of this group were dropped from FBS each year and an equal number of FCS schools were elevated to FBS?
There could actually be an FBS Turd Poll that is generating fan excitement each week as teams cling to the hope of remaining in FBS for the following year.
Equally exciting is the Free Pass Poll that FCS schools would be watching for the chance to be eligible to rub elbows with the football elite for a while.
I think this scenario works for Euro soccer, why not NCAA football?

I think this scenario works for Euro soccer, why not NCAA football? Already been suggested many times, but you would have to do it per sport. Align each Power 5 conference with a Group of Five conference. Swap the two last place teams from P5, move them to G5, and take the top two from the G5, and put them in G5. Let the system percolate the best to the top, and let the poor program s drop down. I like the idea. IU could drop to the MAC in football (remain BIG10 in B-ball), and never make it back to the BIG10, since I think they would be a 3rd or 4th place finisher in the MAC annually. Hell, why not tier the FCS conferences and continue the chain. Let programs rise to the level they deserve by performance. It would drive P5 fans nuts, and I love it.
