Not anywhere near 200k
Chevis was making $88k. Curtis was making 101k and had run game coordinator in his title. So a rough guess would put Brown around $100k. Not bad but half what he was making.

I cant find anything where anyone dislikes much of anything Brown has ever done. His tenure at Ball State may be a very short one

But if he makes our secondary better then good for us.

One year is all any of the coaches should be counting on.

Always take quality when available. I always wondered why some companies wouldn’t hire someone because they were “over qualified “ for the position. Afraid they wouldn’t stay long. So they hire a lesser qualified person.

So they hire a lesser qualified person. That typically has to do with a hiring manager being insecure in their own abilities and putting their personal interests ahead of the companies. I once fired a guy for doing that and detested colleagues who played that game.

Could be a one year stay for him. But if he makes our secondary better then good for us. Could be a one year stay no matter what Or, if he performs well, could be waiting in the wings to move up. Since he'll not be attached to what's happened to this point in the Neu tenure, he might survive or even benefit from a change at HC.

Or we Have a decent year from his standpoint and he adds to his resume. Creating opportunities for HC, etc somewhere else. I think Neu survives next year.

For Neu to survive we have to at minimum go to a bowl. We’ll have to improve significantly and the bozo type mistakes have to stop. Plenty of people wanted him gone this year. And I don’t mean the people on this board.

The two late MAC wins saved him he has to get 500 and in a bowl or its over.

He definitely got bailed out. And I think Mearns probably said no to firing him.

I have no stats but my gut says 8.9 out of 10 coaches in his situation loses their job next year. He has a chance but the odds are not in his favor. Good luck Mike...you will need it.

Six or seven wins next year and he will get the 5th year of his contract 8+ wins and he gets an extension.
