Reach out the the frats and have them combine resources and get a 10,000 dollar up and coming band. Tie it into the football game where the frats can sell football/concert tickets. Tickets are only valid if scanned before kick off. Have the concert after the game.. Call itrock out with the cards or something Cheesy have the University book another country band and promote it well.. Fix the beer the dales.. Promote it to the community.. Yocals will come in droves 20 dollar combo tickets or something Metro football day.. Metro players attend free.. Autograph session with team and coaches after the Bsu game.. Metro games played under the lights with guest celebrity coaches (BSU players and coaches again) Thats a guaranteed 15,000 or more at least on Saturday games more if you couple one or two of these to fall on homecoming or family weekend Boom took me 5 minutes to think of this Stop being more creative than our promotions people.

Stop being more creative than our promotions people. I’ve always wondered what annual metric is used at BSU to evaluate BSU promotions people....🤔

Why would the fraternities coordinate events to help the athletic department, when the athletic department discourages athletes from joining them? It's also part of the reason why the fraternities don't go in to the games. When I was in school, we had fraternity brothers playing on some of the athletic teams. We would go as a group to their games and support them. If athletes were not discouraged from joining Greek Life, and actually did join those groups, you'd see a lot more support at games from those groups.

Strip away all the BS and you guys still have one, and only one, real argument for continuing with football:
"I like other people paying for my expensive pastime and I want them to continue doing it"

Because it gives them a chance to have some insight on what band or bands to use. It also gives them an outside venue to use which they would not normally have. When the frats have put om concerts in the past they have typically done well but using emens is always an issue. Im sure it not as easy as the 15 seconds it took me to type it but it can be done. As far as athletes and organizations thats pretty much the norm everywhere these days

But I don't think that the contracts are a factor of safety. There will always be future contracts, but they wouldn't prevent BSU from making a move it wanted to make. Stupidity, on the other hand, is a rock solid safety factor you can count on.

Like Ive said before your right but nothing is going to change until it changes on a national level I think the worry is he MAC level decision making. I can not see us being in the forefront of making changes as they become possible.

As long as he is in charge nothing will change unless like a said its a forced issue

Yeah, he’s locked us into the ESPN deal thru 2026-27. Who knows, might drive conference mid-week attendance below 1000 by then.....

It's kinda funny how this all works out with the ESPN deal. Not only are they insisting on scheduling midweek games, but a couple years ago ESPN started cutting its expenses for broadcasting those games. When they used to have a full size broadcast truck come to the stadium, they started bringing in a truck that only sends the cameras back to Bristol (minimal crew), and put the show together back there. Usually, we didn't even have announcers in the pressbox, they were in Bristol.
Now I hear that ESPN wants the schools to do the football games, like they do basketball. So not only has ESPN killed attendance, they want the schools to help them do it.
I'm sure there's some more money involved, but it's likely a pittance, like the whole ESPN contract. About 600k per year, per school. Compared to the B1G, that's nothing.
Crazy.

I would love to move to the FBS and into the MVC.
We would get Saturday football games back and really content where we have a realistic chance of winning games. Aside from the 08 seasons and Wennings 2 good years, the program is not at FBS level and it shows. I'd personally consider myself a die-hard and have attended as many games as I can and have for the last 17 years, not to mention some road games, and the bowl games, but to be honest, it's just not enjoyable anymore. It's very clear that the playoffs could never ever happen at our current level, bowl games are not even on the radar with this coaching staff and recruiting and that's all we really need to know. It only takes 6 wins to get into a bowl game and we can't even manage that. We have lost to 2-3 FCS team in the last 10 years and get blown out by Indiana recently. It's over folks, I think its time to move on. I'd be all for signing a petition to get the football program to move to the FCS level.
Even as bad as basketball has been since the Buckley years, I would still come up to make a game once a year, but not even $5 tickets entice me enough to drive up the I69 death trap. It's not worth the damage to the car....
It's the same old story, same old song and dance my friend.- Aerosmith
