Committee are necessary evil, but just like individuals they screw up.
Elsewhere I offered opinion that some of the tailgating rules are probably a necessity. Devil is in the details on others.
The Parking perk is a response to CVC to encourage donations, and is no doubt decades old. I doubt it is working at this level of attendance by donors and this level of large donors. Tell the AD.
Tell CVC about the problem when you donate. I have. Since you are a rich retired guy they should listen to you.

Why donate money when you know the decision makers are going to spend it on something you personally believe is a bad idea ?

Just FYI guys, you can park on the neighborhood streets north of Worthen for free and it's probably closer, certainly not farther. Also easier to get in and get out. There are far to many empty parking spaces in University parking lots to require fans to walk from the far ends of the Duck Pond to the arena. This does not encourage fans to make a trip from Goshen (2.5 hours) or anywhere to come to the game. I don’t care about the five dollars, I juat don’t like being insulted by all the empty spaces closer to the arena, spaces that allowed five dolarge parking in past years. Four thousand fans in an 11,500 arena. They need to market, they need to be fan friendly and they FAIL mightily in both cases.

The worst thing is that we have little evidence the perk generates additional large donations.

The worst thing is that we have little evidence the perk generates additional large donations. It's just stupid, they dangle parking as an incentive while allowing the on court product to continue in a moribund state. It doesn't make any sense. If you want to attract more donations and fans, win something meaningful.
