NIU's Eugene German was suspended again today following another arrest for driving with a suspended license. (2nd time in 2 months for same thing)You might want to check to verify this but I think it's the 4th suspension there. Some of the NIU bloggers say it's enough .Other say hearing he is an NBA prospect has gone to his head. Length of suspension is indefinite. He did not play in their loss today.

I don't know. This could be his Stalingrad.
It's amazing to me how common driving-while-suspended is. For one thing, you would think these people doing it would take extra care to avoid being pulled over. But instead they seem to manage to get pulled over significantly more often than other people. There is obviously a mentality here that simply refuses to heed consequences. Seems pretty clear by this point that German has that sort of mentality, and that there is an extremely high probability he will be the source of more trouble in the future.
It seems to me that this offense may indicate a high probability of future crime in general. If you think about it, it involves three separate instances of bad judgement 1) the original offense leading to the suspension 2) the decision to drive again despite the suspension and 3) driving in such a way to get pulled over again. I think society should consider more severe penalties for this. I think innocent people could thus be spared a lot of trouble from the dumb f----s who commit this offense.

But instead they seem to manage to get pulled over significantly more often than other people. The thing is law enforcement can now auto-read your plate number and know prior to ever initiating a stop if the registered owner is suspended or expired. The mistake he likely made is not borrowing someone else's car.

A speed cam in Dekalb caught him driving while suspended. I think I'd tone down the paint job as not to draw attention

He is a good basketball player & he has problems. The coach has upset some on the blog by treating him differently than others big surprise he is the star. The blog is now saying his grandmother died last week & may have been a contributing factor to the incident. I think cardfan your correct in fact I will say be will likely be back for Tuesday's game or if not then shortly there after.

How many more times does he have to get suspended to catch up to Jeremie Tyler?

My take is that NIU's Montgomery with German knew he was a risk but the potential was to great not to take him. Sounds a lot like Whit & Tyler though it appears German has been a much better player. I also think MAC coaches would have given both a scholarship coming out of high school & taken the risk with them. This was supposed to be NIU's big year so Montgomery also is getting lots of criticism on their blog.

With all due respect to what is going on in his life, there are no contributing circumstances to driving while suspended. It's a decision he made and not a very good one.

Hey I give Montgomery credit for recruiting foreign players. No wonder the poor kid's not familiar with driving laws here in the States. You can go 250 on the autobahn and not even get pulled over.
