I personally don’t think reading defenses was a strength of Riley whether he was being rushed or not. He made too many throws to double covered TE’s even when he had time. Just didn’t seem like he was adept at going through progressions. And his lack of accuracy on deeper throws was pretty obvious. His tendency to float in the pocket never went away either.
But, new and probably better coaching and a better system may be all he needs to get over the hump. The defenses he’ll play will be bigger, faster, and more athletic though.

I didn't attend any games last year and that's something that's easier to tell in person. But on TV it did often seem like "why the hell did he throw into that coverage?"

Riley is a great kid with a world of talent. Just couldn’t put it all together or stay healthy for us. Maybe he’ll be in a bowl game next season.

I do not think any one has mentioned this yet but just factor in the fact that he will be going against SEC defenses.. That is a whole different thing than going against MAC defenses.. A little ,istake is a pick six

He tended to hesitate if he wasn’t sure about a throw and it allowed db’s to get better position. He did uncork a few pretty throws early in the Season this year. Especially the one Hall dropped. Led him perfectly.

Odds are to me Neal will go down do to an injury running the ball by mid season. Any one want to bet on him being able to play in all 12 Vandy Games?

He'll slip on a sign placed near the sidelines by a cheerleader and tear an ACL. Wasn't that the scenario against Ohio in Athens this year? I thought I saw him slide on a cheerleader sign when he went out of bounds.

If he is lucky he will slide into a cheerleader and she will fall on top of him.
