If we continue to shoot the ball poorly, it does not matter how healthy we are. We have some serious flaws that have been exposed during the regular season and I am not confident in this staff that we will and can adjust. Teams are putting pressure on our guards and taking away the dribble drive with help. We do not have a pure shooter on this team that is automatic when left alone. Gunn is strictly a catch, set and shoot guy that has to have space and Mallers is a mess. We waisted a scholarship on a 5th year senior that gives us nothing and you have El Amin coming back from a broken wrist? Not sure how Whitford can be so confident.

Gotta be a reason we’ve stunk it up so bad, right? Whit has chosen injuries to reserves as the reason. Otherwise the finger would be pointed back at him. He’s definitely putting all the chips on the table with it and if it doesn’t pan out he’s going to look even worse.
I’m still saying if our starting 5 was that good or we were well coached we’d have scrapped our way to more wins. Especially over teams like OU. Well coached teams find a away. They do the little things right consistently and players maximize their talents. They make winning plays. They hit free throws. They don’t turn the ball over. We’ve not seen that from this team.

Our offense is predicated on feeding the post and trying to kick out to shooters when the post gets packed but our bigs have turned the ball over too much and we are not a good shooting team. That leaves Walton and Persons playing hero ball or Teague has been chucking them lately. As noted Mallers has been a mess other than his game against Western. He’s shooting 28% from the arc in conference.
I listened to that interview earlier in the week. Was that guy in Whitfords wedding? What a searing probing in depth dive into our program!
Whit consistently says, “I like my guys.” So do your fans. We just don’t like our offense or how they are coached or the lack of toughness or your style or the results. Five games left plus the tournament, coach. Prove us wrong. Please. I’d love to see a run and something to celebrate. No consolation prize but a MAC title and a trip to the Dance. Anything short of that is another lost season. Your fans are ready.

not only did he go all in on the injury front. He also backed it up by saying if we can gell a couple times. He can then use the gelling excuse hand in hand with injuries if we do not finish well.. Well played whit

I take it that Sterling didn't venture to hint that committing multiple scholarships to redshirts and projects has anything to do with the depth issues?

It’s a self fulfilling prophecy in the excuse spin machine and some are buying it but most no longer are. Our fans are not dumb. They know what they are seeing and they’ve seen it before.
We don’t have depth because we have injuries because we don’t have depth because we have injuries because we have guys sitting out because suspensions we have injuries because we don’t have depth because we haven’t jelled yet because we have injuries because we don’t have depth but we played the right way but we don’t have depth because we have injuries and we have big time players waiting in the wings but we don’t have depth and we can’t trust the bench because we have injuries and Huggins will be good in 5 years but we don’t have depth but Nehls solves our shooting issues but we don’t have depth because of injuries we just haven’t come together yet but it’s coming but we have injuries and we just don’t get the breaks and the clock ran out on us because we don’t have depth because we haven’t recruited well enough poor roster management oops I mean we have Injuries so we don’t have depth but if we do get depth we will jell or might or won’t because we have injures.
