I’d say the HR person at the paper was lacking in “due diligence” skills.
Hope we schedule SE Missouri State real soon.
Never mind.....Tom won’t make it to Basketball season 🙄

I'm setting the over/under at 6 months
I think that paper uses the same search firm we used for Ronnie Thompson.

Small-town newspapers pay McDonald's wages. They cannot afford to be choosy.
Even if they did a full vetting and knew everything about him, he probably looked like a prince compared to the rest of their applicant pool.

Yeah, wonder what the size of the market is?
He's sure hopping around the country. Expensive moving if he has family in tow.

My advice would be to buy a used pop-up camper and write it off as a business expense.

Not sure of the circulation but the Cape Area is in the 150,000 population range. The Southeastern Missourian in the Cape has a circulation of about 16,000, so smaller than Muncie. Their sports coverage consists primarily of local high schools, although I'm sure Tom will have the opportunity to dabble in local and state colleges, similar to his Fort Wayne gig.

I would suspect he will also cover SE Missouri State sports as they compete in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Covering SE Mo St. athletics out of the goodness of his heart, and instructing the benighted locals in properly woke political thought. Davis will be quite busy as long as he lasts.
