I admit to liking to argue. Well, let us know when you win one. Just check any recent reply to one of your posts.

I'm not getting carried away with this EMU win - it's not like we played anywhere near 40 solid minutes...if not for Ish's late in the half 3-ptr, we're down 9 at the break. I'll give BSU credit for one solid half though.

I agree anything less than winning the MAC is unacceptable but win it and all is forgiven! I think most of us would agree.
Only Toledo might have a chance at an NIT bid. I’ll bite Sweep if Coach can make the Final I’d keep him around for another season. No finals appearance your out of here.

Winning championships is the only thing that matters to me.
Hypothetically, if we had a coach that lost every single regular season game but won every single tournament game he coached I would not fire him.
Regular season championships are obviously a better measurement of the best team, but as long as the conference tournament punches the ticket for the dance it's the only thing I care about.
But the bottom line is we should all agree that an 11 seed and a "good showing" in the tournament is unacceptable.

My thought is, going to the NCAAs is great, but the object is to win a couple of games, so a decent seed like Buffalo will get is just as important as getting there. Say we somehow get by Buffalo, and go as a 14 or 15 seed, once you get by the novelty factor, taking a 30 point beat down isn't going to be much fun. Anyway we have a long road before we should be discussing winning this thing.

Last year the overall one seed took a 20 point beat down. The tournament is so crazy all I really hope for is an invitation. I think one of Butler's runner-up years they beat Old Dominion with a buzzer-beating tip-in in round 1.
MAC Champs and a first round March Madness exit is enough to satisfy me.

It would at least get us somewhere and maybe jumpstart something.

Yeah that was Butler's second trip, I mentioned to someone the other day if Butler had lost that game they might still be in the Horizon League. The only way Ball State wins the MAC tourney is if our remaining opponents happen to have off games.

We are literally one game removed from one of the most disappointing seasons in memory. We played one good half against a mediocre opponent. Now we are talking seeding in the Dance? Sheer madness.

I'd agree if we were talking about it in the context of anticipation. We're really talking about what is an acceptable result for a coach. It's not like we're budgeting for next week's plane tickets here.
