The issue with the Hawaii game is the travel and the 11:30 pm start time, and of course Whitford's game preparation.

Well there you have it! Sweep makes a no call on Hawaii and a prolific no possible win against Washington. Way to go out on a limb!!!! You would have to regularly sleep upside down in a hamper full of dirty Ball State jocks to predict a win vs. Washington.

But what happened re Hawaii? No pick? I would call it a toss-up. You are the best. "I said it would not surprise me to make it to the final?!!!! That’s hardly a prediction we will 100% win, hello??? " Above you defend yourself by pointing out you hedged your prediction, then proceed to excoriate me for doing the same thing.

In Conjunction with the DiamondHead Classic, Ball State will also travel to Atlanta to play Georgia Tech on December 18th (a tourney "non-bracketed" game).
So, head to Atlanta, play the Ramblin' Wreck, jump on a plane and head to Hawaii.

Ball State will now face Washington and UTEP will take on Hawaii: The 2019 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic has made a change to the quarterfinals schedule, with Ball State now facing Washington and UTEP playing Hawai'i in the second session of the opening day. The change was made due to scheduling challenges, including the scheduling of non-bracketed games prior to the start of the event.
The 2019 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic will be held Dec. 22, 23 and 25. The ESPN Events tournament will feature eight teams, with 12 games played over three days.
In addition to the 12 games played at the Stan Sheriff Center, the event will feature two non-bracketed on-campus games: Ball State at Georgia Tech on December 18 and UTEP at Houston the following day.hawaiiathletics.com/news/2019/8/2/mens-basketball-espn-events-updates-bracket-for-hawaiian-airlines-diamond-head-classic.aspxNo idea what the "reason" means (see bolded/underlined in the first paragraph above).

Probably improves our odds slightly of beating Hawaii, assuming we play them 2nd game. Do not have to play them first game after long travel on their home court.
Washington we would not expect to beat whenever we would play them.
More likely of course to move into losers bracket right away. Should play 2 team we can compete with but either way.
