Track, you seem awfully sure, and although kid is surely an optimist, it seems like he has seen Hendricks practice. What have you seen that gives you 180 degree different opinion. We sure don't know much on the record, so I start out skeptical myself I certainly hope Hendricks turns-out to be that unappreciated gem that no one recruited except for Whitford. That happened a lot 20 or 30 years ago, but I just don't think it happens much in today's You-tube society. Whitford seems to have established a track record of red-shirting freshman, especially Big's. He red shirted Huggins and Teague before him. Yes, I remember Teague had the foot issue the fall of his freshman year, but I think Whitford just used that as a further justification to have Teague sit out the year. There is also a minutes issue. You have Teague/Hazen/Thomas competing for PF and C minutes, along with Huggins (maybe). Then you have Maller/Acree/Gunn fighting for minutes at SF. Maybe Gunn getting some minutes at PF. Then there are the times (maybe often) when Whitford plays 3 guards. Whitford could well be thinking hopefully a lot of minutes for a 23 year-old Hendricks is better than a few minutes per game from a 19 year-old Hendricks. But heck, maybe I'll be wrong and Hendricks will be a mainstay of the 2019-20 rotation and average 30 minute per game. If he does, I'm sure you will remind me of it.

That's along the lines I have been thinking as well.
Except both Huggie and Hendricks have more bulk than any other potential post defenders and that may give them a chance to play.
But then I want to see both in action before I'd be as emphatic about it. Best case I still don't see starters minutes for either.

Hendricks will definitely play...he can score inside and looks like a shot blocker. He has put on 15 pounds since joining the Cards.
Acree is long and athletic.
Luke is a baller...can definitely shoot but must get more comfortable with pressure.

I won’t say Hendricks can play a lot this year til he proves he can do it against bona fide D1 teams. Not teams in Costa Rica.

BSU 79 Costa Rica National team 58
Team from Ottawa up next; they have beaten a few D 1 teams so likely tougher competition

No stat sheet but tonight we played Josh, Gunn, Acree, Teague, Luke, Hazen, Ish, Lucas, and Hendricks!
I’d guess Hazen and Ish each had about 12 each; also Hazen had at least 8-9 rebounds. Hendricks likely had 8-10 with 6-7 rebounds and 3 blocks.

Looking at the box score the thing that jumped out is 20 turnovers. I understand it's just an exhibition for Christ's Sake Whitford.

Turnovers for a team with 10 practices, playing 3 freshmen and not playing everybody on the roster, traveling all day the day before is no big deal.
Costa Rica outmatched and not really good competition, doubt they were overall better than a good D2 team, but included older experienced semipro players with international competition experience. If they played hard and were physical it was a good practice game. Interview with Ish indicated that was the story and we adjusted to the style. The next two games against D2 competition should be in the same vein. 1/2 of our guys who played will not play the next game, return for game 3. The DNP kids will play both the next 2 games. KJ, Mallers, Huggins, Thomas, Coleman.

Had hoped for a little more production from Teague in his minutes. Bumbalough is a freshman and will often look like one. Josh will be the starter initially.
