I would argue Paul Schudel was a good coach though not as good as McClain.

Schudel was definitely above what we normally get
Paul won 55% of his games and had 60% winning seasons Dave won 79% of his games and had 100% winning seasons

You know......we really haven’t had a consistently “good” football coach since 1977. 1977!!!!! That is 42 freaking years ago. I’m with Sherm, offer a young, new guy a 2-3 year opportunity and see where it takes you. It CAN’T be worse than our “search” process keeps giving us. I agree either young with something to prove or someone old who still has a love for the game Getting everyone on this forum to agree with me is step 1 in my plan for world domination. And if I can pull off step 1, the rest of the plan will seem very easy.

Are you truly in on the insane dream, RMC!?

VERY little chance any BB coach at this level would accept those terms. LESS chance an AD would risk a career making that offer.
The practical problem, apart from that, is how you determine who to offer and maybe how you justify it after it fails. Which it pretty likely would.
Slightly less problem with a 4 year FB offer if the roster was a decent one to start and your young wonder worker brought a good staff. Which seems unlikely though...

I'd have to pretty much agree, david75bsu. Six would show progress, which we haven't shown under this administration. I think all of us would be happy if not thrilled with 6 wins.. Based on recent results I'n not sure how a logical person could expect more I don't honestly think a logical person could expect six, but then again we'd have to be thrilled with six.

Six wins is a commemorative tee shirt and the chance to join six of your alumni friends on a trip to the Beefarino Bowl!

Found my 2011 Ball U vs IU t-shirt. Better than the stupid short they are selling for this year’s game, think I’ll wear it to the game!
