Gilbert has 115 yds rushing & a td on his 18 carries. K St leads 49-7 over Nicholls State midway thru 4th.

Yes we could have used him.

We are fine in the RB department. I wish him the best though.

What exactly was the deal with Gilbert and Neu? Last Year he wasn't used as much in the past and he transfered?

Totally agree. As some folks have said, previously, we were likely going to lose Gilbert or Huntley. Really nice player, but I'll gladly take two years of Huntley over one year of Gilbert.

In his freshmen year when he was healthy Huntley was the better running back. I agree that two years of Huntley is better than one year of Gilbert.

Yeah I’m not gonna write Gilbert off as easily as most of you guys are. The kid is a damned good back who got yards even with a poor oline and now he’s starring at a Power5 school.
Fletcher has that wiggle and quickness too but far too often our backs are running right into a pile and getting nowhere. They aren’t making guys miss. Huntley has been mostly bottled up.

Glad to see Gilbert is off to a good start. It will be interesting to see if he can keep it up when they start playing semi-decent teams.

I do not think anyone knows the full story on what happened but it seems as if something soured during his time here. He was/is a damn good back though and I hope he continues to do well

I guess it’s nice to get mentioned when he’s talked about.
