I don’t care about final score in a win as much as hoping we have a big lead early and get to play a lot of our younger guys to see how they look and build enthusiasm through out the team.

Toledo has a bye. Odds from Sportsline.com. The MAC went 3-8 this week, all three wins were FCS opponents. There were two huge shutouts. We should be able to win games in the MAC. It is really down.

Had a chance to watch a replay of the NIU @ Utah game last night. NIU looks good again. They played #13 Utah tough for the first half (21-17 Utah @ half). The Utes made a few defensive adjustments at the half and shut down NIU. NIU gave up a 4Q TD to a stupid spearing call that gave Utah great field position.
In OOC, NIU playing a ranked MVFC FCS team (illinois State), a PAC12 (Utah), a BIG10 (Nebraska) and an SEC game (Vanderbilt) prior to BSU game on 10/5.

Why do think we should be able to win some MAC games? Not saying your wrong just wondering.. I look at it like this which MAC team that beat us last year did we become better than during the off season? Northern Nope, CMU we can win, EMU nope, Toledo nope, WMU maybe, Ohio nope, Kent we can win, Miami nope... So Im seeing 2 maybe three.. What do you see

What do you see The conference looks weaker than it has been over the past few years. I think we have had some improvement. After watching some MAC games (it's early) I think EMU and Toledo look weaker. I think we can beat EMU, CMU, Toledo, Kent, and Miami, and possibly pull a home upset of Ohio. If we can play error-free ball, we might pull off 4 to 6 wins in conference. I feel that 4-4 in conference is a strong result, but a shot at 5-3 is possible. 6-2 would be a miracle.

The league is weaker. Akron is probably worse than Kent & BG is right with them.CMU does not look any better.Buffalo is definitely worse & it appears Ohio may not be as strong as most thought as Pitt beat them with out a struggle.Miami may be as good as OU. I come out with the same scenario as Calhoun & Cardfan though I think the top teams in the league are NIU & Toledo. WMU with Wassink at QB I rate above us & put EMU above us in 4th. Who do we beat after Kent & CMU? Maybe Miami, WMU & EMU. I will be very happy if we beat 2 of the 3 which gives us a 4-4 league mark.We have any hopes of a bowl we have to beat FAU Saturday.

4-4 in the mac buys Neu another year I'm not saying we're a contender for the MAC title, but it looks like the MAC, as a whole, has weakened in football. We appear to be better than last year and two years ago, so by no fault of our own, we may improve our MAC performance this year.

4-4 in the MAC should buy Neu at least another year. We all must consider where we were when he took over, and maybe more importantly where will we end up by firing him and starting from square one AGAIN.

So what you’re saying is, if we fire Neu, he will have left the program in the same shape that he found it. Sounds like a good idea.

IF he is improved this year, we might fairly expect he will be ahead of where we were then, with some momentum. I am not sure why you think a new coach would be better placed to go on from that point. I doubt we buy him out of a 5th year either way. Budget. 4-4 in the MAC probably gets him an extension, not a pink slip.

I'm guessing 3-5 in MAC with wins against Kent st, cmu, and 1 of Miami oh/ou bobcats games. I'm indecisive on where win 3 comes from.
