We looked stuck in the mud vs Fordham. FAU obviously is much quicker and more athletic than Fordham so we’ll see how we do.

I believe in the win-loss column this game could prove to be very pivotal for Coach Neu!

FAU lost most of their playmakers on offense from last year. They are still looking for playmakers to emerge (likely to happen in this game). If somehow we could pressure their QB, I think we could force some turnovers and keep their offense from exploding on us. That is a big “if” though because when do we actually pressure QB’s? Our offensive play calling will need to be more creative and aggressive. I don’t think the dive runs up the middle and short passing game will be very effective in this game. FAU does not have a great defense, but they do have the athletes to cause us problems.

How many failed dives did we run vs Fordham? Could not get much done between the tackles. I especially love when we call stuff up the middle with our smallest back. Smh. Took us awhile to figure out we needed to spread Fordham out and operate faster. Once we did we started rolling. Were we trying to stay vanilla or were Joey/Neu slow to adjust? Guessing we didn’t prep that much especially given how Fordham gashed is at times.
A win over FAU would really establish something and give us a decent shot at 6 wins. Gotta stay healthy.

You gotta think we have been prepping for FAU more so than fordham. Its just how things go there was no chance Fordham was going to beat us

And that is true, Fordham was never going to beat us.

Were we looking past a 7-5 Indiana State team in 2014 when we dropped a deuce at home? We had Toledo coming up the next week.
Granted, that was on Lembo's dime, but man, never overlook a weekend.

We probably were and it bit us in the ass. Im not saying its good or right only saying it always happens.

Plitt is doing a better job of looking downfield. Does not always lock in on one receiver. He can put touch on the ball. IMO, he is a far better an than Riley. With Riley gone, Plitt has gotten a chance to shine. Had Neal stayed this would not have happened and we would still be dinking and dunking our way down the field. Like what I am seeing. Also, we do have some shinning stars on offense. “D” is still a work in progress, but I am enjoying the INT’s.

The D, I don’t know what to tell you. 29 to Fordham? We were up 43-14 late into the 3rd before they scored and then shut them out in the 4th Q... To me those are "garbage time" points.. Not to be an overly fanboy here, but I would expect FAU to come into Muncie fairly banged up after that schedule, and would hope we come away with a convincing victory. I think we will hang 30 on them, but I don't think they can do the same based on what I saw. Thier star RB has a broken ankle so that might help the cause in Muncie. Either way, it is a VERY pivitol game for the team coaches and program. Going 2-2 in non conference would be huge.

Neal is doing at Vandy what he did here. How could anyone think he would do more? The position this team and staff are in they are lucky to have Plitt with a Brett Farve attitude
