Its not impossible for us to win this game.. The offense has to play really well and the D has to get some tiemly stops

When you have a GOOD QB such as Plitt seems to be you are never out of a ball game. FAU turns the ball over four times one fumble and three interceptions we score on three of them and we walk away with a W.

I think some of you are overestimating FAU. They are middle of the MAC level. The spread is only 2.5 points for a reason. If we lose by 20 points like some of you are suggesting, I don't see us winning more than 3 or 4 games total. We are lower mac level Too early to say that for sure. We will know a lot more after today.

FAU is respectable but if they were to completely dropkick BSU i agree on the 3/4 win estimate.

Too early to say that for sure. We will know a lot more after today. Still to early.. For me it’s too early to say we are a low level MAC team before we play a conference game. We probably are, but I want to see how we do against the conference. I think it is weak this year.

Look at how far we have fallen, hoping for a weak MAC so we can squeak out four games and reach five wins for the year. I for one, will not let this team ruin my love of Ball State Athletics and the students that represent our University.

Problem is, even if the Mac is weak this year, we are still weak. All it’ll mean is we’ll lose closer. Our offense is good. I like it. But the oline can’t handle any kind of pass rush, which stifles production, and we are undisciplined. But the real issue continues to be the defense. What offense is it going to stop other then maybe Kent? I just can’t see a 6 win season. Not even 5. And if all things stay the same the defense won’t be much better next year, because Elson.

Take away their two early turnovers, and that game is a complete blowout. We looked completely outclassed. Our D is just atrocious in every way. Their QB is just average, and he torched us. Their Oline pushed us around. Nothing wrong with optimism, but we are not a good football team or program right now.

I'll agree we ain't good but this whole "take away their two early turnovers, and that game is a complete blowout" stuff is kinda a ridiculous game to play.

Their top 3 RBs did not make the trip due to injuries, and their 4th stringer coughed it up in our territory, leading to one immediate score and another scoring drive. Otherwise, we are not even remotely in that game at halftime. My opinion based on how their QB and receivers were shredding our secondary...

Ball State had 4 turnovers and a missed field goal. The fumble at the goal line probably would have been a TD in a play or 2.

Otherwise, we are not even remotely in that game at halftime. My opinion based on how their QB and receivers were shredding our secondary... I just think the whole if ... if ... if game isn't worth much. You can go back and forth all day with this stuff and never prove anything. Well, if Huntley didn't fumble the ball on the goal-line ... and geez he was only playing because our top RB from last year transferred ... And if we had kicker who could hit a 40-yard FG ... And if we had a DB who was 2 inches taller and could have knocked away that late TD ... And if our punter didn't shank one deep in our own territory ... On and on and on ... And to conclude from that "game" you're playing that we were totally outclassed despite the fact that FAU gave up 160+ yards rushing and 300+ passing ... well, I'd say if we were that far outclassed on the field, Kiffin must be a worse coach than Neu. Because, yes, we were only a play or 2 away from being blown out but we also were only a play or 2 away from winning. Personally, I tend to think both teams were pretty damn bad and I agree that we do have legit problems covering receivers. On the other hand, I think you'll find a lot of WRs running free through defensive backfields when the QB has 5+ seconds to camp out in the pocket.
