Coleman looks like a giant next to him, he's still not very big, maybe a mighty mite. We’re listing Bumbalough as 6’1. Coleman is 6’5..... Must be elevator shoes compared to barefoot.

And is teague not pictured in this months issue of weight training or was he home playing NBA 2k20 Nah, he was exhausted from his high energy workout. Or maybe had to leave to study for his classes. Others not in picture, too, unless we have already lost them to injury...

Couple things I thought our only bragging point from last year was something like KJ's vertical would have been second at the NBA combine.. Now he cant clear 42? oddd and then this which is probably a year or so old.. Its pretty obvious these guys have been lifting at least so lets hope we are a tougher stronger team /photo/1
I forgot that Bumbalough committed in the third grade.

Does look like about 13 years old in that commitment pic.
Current roster photo, looks 16

In the case of Bumbalough, wonder what that increased muscle mass does for his 3-point shot? Being muscle bound isn't always the recipe for fluid shot mechanics.

That can be an issue, they are also moving the three point line back to 22' 1 3/4" this season. It's going to spread the floor and make big men even more important.

Should also make mid range jump shot more attractive. Teams will be able to pack in against big guys. For us may make Gunn a bit more valuable.

Yeah I saw that and thought, never mind. You see his pic and his arms still look puny. The "guns," so to speak, look great in photos but do little in a bench press. You want to check bench press strength, look at the pecs, anterior delts, triceps.

Yes, and we want strength and endurance that translates into basketball. This isn't body building anyway.
The "guns" do show the kid is working hard and we have had some changes due to his resistance training. No idea now about how much to make of it though.

It should all work together and all those muscle groups have their roles. Stronger biceps will conceivably help in a number of ways, including fighting through contact and finishing at the rim.
I get a little concerned with getting a little too swole. Not necessarily a bad thing but I've seen plenty of basketball players who are lithe and wiry and strong as hell.
I hope they're as strong through their core and their hips as they look through the biceps.

Knew a guy in the dorms, a kind of a nerdy, bookish, unathletic guy, who became obsessed with the bench press for some reason. He developed the above-mentioned muscles to a huge extent, but remained very scrawny otherwise. He was utterly useless on our intramural flag football team due to having zero athletic background or instincts, and being completely uncoordinated. Nice guy, though, straight A student. And when his hometown girlfriend came to visit, she turned out to be quite a sexy babe.

I'm sure all of us old timers remember Ray McCallum's similar transformation as a player. Didn't seem to affect his shot. As a matter of fact, his added strength allowed him to hit the fadeaway with ease!
