I’m not sure if your being serious or not Tarheel but I think it’s a pretty big deal being put into the HOF for the school one played for and in fact, I suspect if it were any of our kids we’d be beaming with pride! Oh, of course LMills you or others have never egged on anyone!! Give it a break! And, frankly if your uninterested in a thread no one is making you post! I am very much interested in this thread. My point is that the HOF stature is diminished when you begin inserting players with career 11 point averages.

You truly lacked a response; truth is if your uninterested don’t post! Hard to argue with? I guess Tarheel is interested so don’t post or read something else. br] I don’t know where Teague ranks but at his current pace certainly in the HOF!
Many said no chance albeit you were not one of those.
He keeps improving he could end up in an NBA camp but he would need to improve his range

Tarheel you make a valid point however this year he could be MAC MVP which in my mind would qualify him. But fact is he hasn’t won it albeit he’s likely in the hunt.

We all knew Teague had the talent to play the way he has this season. It was just a matter of him quietining outside influences and doing his damn job. He has been awesome in 90% of his games this year. Just based on numbers he just might make it into BSU Hall someday. If he had not played the way he has this year then there is no way he would have deserved it. Even if he does make it and someone twenty years from now asks me how Teague was as a player. I will say he had a great senior season but he could have done so much more during his time here

The great this about this little back-and-forth is you and I likely will both be dead by the time Teague is ever inducted into the Hall so we can keep this thread going another 25-30 years. It might outlive the Bane thread.

I’d just like the kid to even get first team all Mac once on his career. Maybe win the Mac tourney and create an actual legacy.

He is having a solid year, and he is a handful for most MAC teams. I could see MAC POTY if he can continue to play this way - may need to up his scoring average a bit. You all should go back and look at BSU HoF inductions in the last 10-15 years. Some of them are downright shameful - like as in, why in the world did that person get in?

More than solid at this point. He really is our best candidate for all-MAC in many years.
HoF? I just don't know how we look at that. It is not restricted to stars of the magnitude of Bonzi and Ray, or even all MAC. It includes players who were certainly good, or contributed to very high team achievement, but short of those heights of individual play. Some who were appreciated for good play and did not win championships, too. Obviously team achievements enter in.
Such awards MAC POTY really are not just individual achievement awards too. Sure, always a star during that season. But there are typically several close players, so the team success weighs in.

Isn’t all of this a bit premature?

MY BSU memories begin in the Bonzi Era he no doubt is a hall of famer. I do not know who is even in the hall of fame. Is anyone from the MAUI team in the Hall of Fame? If not I would say both Petey and Lonnie are every bit as deserving as Teague. Have we had a better guard than Petey since he graduated? Lonnie is BSU's all time leader in Blocks right. If your a schools all time leader in anything your a hall of famer right. Now some have said its not all nummbers so if thats the case Then Treyand has to be in right? Loved by fans and decent carreer numbers.. Then there is Taylor only played three seasons but is still decent in some categories. He hit the biggest shots of anyone since Maui.. 20 years of basketball 4 possibles.. Oh I forgot T smith he has to be in right.. I think an argument could be made that any of the above might be as worthy as teague

It’s becoming like a “participation award” for names you might or might not recognize....or a Hollywood sidewalk star that are purchased for recognition. It’s close to or already has lost the true meaning of Hall of Fame. I don’t have anything against a current player but when you compare what I see now to Regenold, Bullington, Wells, McCallum.....there’s two or three levels of difference (in my opinion). Maybe we now need a Super Hall of Fame.

While Teague is a good player, he's not even close to HoF material, when you look at the total body of work.
Do you think Eli Manning would be a lock for the NFL Hall if he just won NFC East Player of the Year one time?

Do you think Eli Manning would be a lock for the NFL Hall if he just won NFC East Player of the Year one time? This is not the MAC HOF, just BSU. I haven't looked at the list to compare career stats, but I'd bet we have people there who were not a POY candidate. I am not saying we retire his jersey, but think I have been persuaded that a 4 year player wjo was pretty good for 3 years and has a great year should be considered.
Persons and Trey from last year each have a case as well. I just wish they had closed strong and won something as seniors.
