We’d be playing for MAC Championship game today. I think that says more about how bad the MAC is this year, but still... we were so close!

We flat should be playing in the MACC. straight up. One stop in each of the last 3 games and we’re there. One. Stop. 🤬

We very easily could have been a 7-8 win team with just one stop. I've been saying that going back to the NC State game. Nice night to sit in nose bleed seats and watched 2 speacial team plays lead to 14 pts.

And that’s part and parcel of the problems with Neu’s teams. Lack of Details. Lack of Clean special teams operations. Not being smart. Poor discipline in principles on defense leading to numerous and regular breakdowns. Bad penalties at key times. Not getting to the sticks when needing a first down. Letting opponents get to the sticks when they need a first down.
We’ve seen these issues from day 1 and it hasn’t changed. I know the staff works hard yet we are not a well drilled team that makes the plays that need to be made, the smart plays. The winning plays. It’s just not there.

cardfan those comments lead me to conclude you would not have extended Neu?
I again will state he is not a coach that has brought us any improvement. We lose Friday we are 4-8 just like yr one & finish at best tied for last in the division which was where we finished in 16. That 2016 season we were close in a number of MAC losses in his 1st yr. We lost 4 games by 7 pts or less including 1 by 3 & one by 1.Six of the 8 losses were with in 10 pts. Only bad loss was to #17 WMU 52-20.

Yeah it's like we hired a guy who had never been a head coach or top college assistant, and has to learn on the job.
Almost no AD with ambition to get quick results and win a lot of games would do that.

From checking the WMU blog after the loss to NIU Tim Lester may be looking for a number of new assistants. Maybe some of our assistants are ready to move & as the father of a BSU student he's likely to read them.
