As far as replacing him.. What about one of the 10-20 fbs level head coaches that have been or are going to be fired. You would think there would be some who are going to need to redeem themselves and have already cashed huge checks that money is not an issue.. I dont know just throwing out ideas Many of those coaches probably received an exit package that pays over time, that would expire if the coach were to accept another coaching position. Most take the package and let it ride.

Call David Braun and North Dakota State. Young guy, and top 5 in almost every FCS defensive category. Id love it but Im not sure that BSU is a better career move and I doubt we pay that much more Unless he sees something good here where he can come in and be the missing piece creating a winner. He then looks pretty good to the next level guys. Then the money is pretty awesome.

Assistant coach at this and lower levels is all about joining a winning program (or building one) and moving on with the staff to the next level.
In some case where you have connections you can do a good job and jump ship to tie your star to a different staff or go back down as a HC. But in any case that usually means you have been part of a winning staff. Any coach coming in is betting BSU will be successful.

That graph tells me we need Jay Bateman to return and that we’re still 33% below average and that Stacey Brook has a lot of time on her hands.

Not liking that we are now competing with Toledo for a coordinator. Also, now a new system must be learned. Part of the deal though.

The problem with the defense is that it continued to get worse. They were actually decent for the first half. Not sure why this is the case every year.

Agreed 100% not sure why that is.. More film and other coordinators figuring out how to counter what we are doing then us being unable to counter back I guess

I guess it's kinda like the complaining we've done about the offense being so predictable in the past. Where when we lined up in a formation it was predictable what we were going to run. Maybe the defense has been similar, but not quite so obvious to the "untrained eye".

Not sure what the point of putting that information together was. Are we supposed to question the firing because we don't suck quite as much as we used to?
Anybody who watched this team could easily see the defense (improved or not) cost us wins.

Actually, didn't we have much the same conversation about firing Elson after last year?
Imagine looking forward to a MAC championship game this weekend if Neu/Goetz has made this decision a year earlier.
