Having been a season ticket holder at App State for many years, this hits below the belt.
App’s very successful head football coach left last year to fill the vacancy at Louisville. Can’t blame him, he had a long stretch of success and the Mountaineers were on a roll in their first 5 years in FBS.
So, they they bring in a guy and give him his first HC opportunity with a 5-year contract and he inherits a championship team almost intact from his predecessor.
13 games later he accepts the job at Missouri and skidaddles town before the bowl game.
Reading the football forums this morning and everyone is clamoring for a new coach who will be loyal to the university forever.....won’t happen. Power 5 money is an evil mistress.

It is everything that is wrong about college sports. What about Norvell at Memphis? A seemingly good dude, but bolts on a team that had a historic season and is playing in a New Year's Day bowl game. It's just gross, and the NCAA really needs to do something about it. At the very least, the departed school should get a hefty payout.

Called buyout. Often crticized as are long term contracts that increase the amount.

At the very least, they should prohibit coach hiring until after the bowls are over.

At the very least, they should prohibit coach hiring until after the bowls are over. That is all about recruiting and getting the new coach to try to keep players committed.

Spoken from by a persons who almost drowned at the Bowl Game in Mobile. Actually I have witnessed two should have been BSU bowl wins that didn't happen in Mobile.

At the very least, they should prohibit coach hiring until after the bowls are over. Recruiting is vital. 3rd rate bowls are just stupid, meaningless exhibition games.

Boone, NC is an acquired taste. Not that Muncie isn't.
