It really isn’t in Neu’s managerial style to think outside the path of least resistance. Makes me think he had help in letting Elson go. I don't doubt that was the case and it was a 'This or That' kind of help.

If he hadn't had a history with Elson, I might be OK with this but that does kind of taint things for me. Hard to tell how much influence there was there or ways in which they might have disagreed. We'll see, I guess. He said "taint". Huh, huh...

There ya go. Rob and I saw that coming. It’s the cheap option. ....and......just like that, 2020 begins to look like 2019 and we no longer have to speculate on what “up and coming” defensive coordinators get for a salary.

That co-DC idea would be logical if they don't expect a real change in direction. Harder to make structural change with 2 guys at the helm. A single voice better then. Good idea to share where Elson was stifling one of these guys or one could take over an area Elson was just not effective but as DC could get final say.

And the new DB/pass game coordinator is another Western Illinois connection. Josh Zindenberg, at William and Mary.
Elson->Stockton->Zindenberg.
Wiu football hasn’t been great lately so I’m not sure why we keep going to the well but we’ll see. Maybe this guy is good.
