Reading the article, it seemed to me it was about injuries to key players. I considered that and it might be the case, yet Whitford said "people didn't know about". I think we all saw Walton and Mallers get injured in previous games and realize Walton has a bad ankle he has battled for the past few years. Acree being injured was unknown to me and I still don't know what his problem is, but one player (who is a minor role player) being injured without the general public knowing about it doesn't seem to equate to "a lot of adversity behind the scenes".

Well when your searching for excuses you magnify things to make any win look better

I believe we had two starters playing banged up as well as Acree and Walton. For those not valuing numbers on the bench, it sure was good that Kroft was available. I keep thinking of all the games last year where in similar situations we had only Zach Gunn to substitute, regardless of what the match up might require. He certainly could not defend the perimeter.
BTW anybody know his status? We may need him...

Gunn is out for the year will seek a medical. Not sure what happened to Acree I did not read anywhere that he was injured. Are we sure that was just not a DNP for him. Walton just has a bad ankle and has for a couple years now.. Use him when he can go I guess. Mallers is a warrior if he can walk he will play

I’ve never seen him play so aggressively. If he was playing like this with Persons and Moses still on the team they could have made some noise in my opinion.

That’s always the danger in Whitford’s program. There’s always some kind of adversity going on. Injuries, suspensions, academic failings, etc. You just never know. In other purely speculative news the Bizeau kid is likely to announce his enrollment at BSU soon. I'm sure whatever problems he had at Toledo will totally disappear once he's in Muncie. Good post and good point. Muncie will fill the lad with wholesome academic and athletic experiences. (Please see Chug: WTS Muncie Person of the Year for “Green Acres” real life character references)

I would not be surprised if Gunn breaks out by his Next season! He is athletic and can shoot!
If he can get stronger off the dribble and improve his D he could be dangerous!
The kid after an ankle surgery is already on the court shooting!

Sure. I Hope he becomes what we expected. But it would also not be surprising if he didn’t break out. That’s the problem.
