That was a good win we played well.. Ish was funny talking alot of trash to Buffs bench. Good atmosphere, Nice student turnout about 25-40 footballers out supporting as well. Felt like a late season Mac game.. Buff kept trying to make a run but we kept hitting a shot here or there to end it

I have finally figured it out. Simply don’t watch the game and only periodically check the score. Stats look great. Anytime you can beat a quality opponent, regardless of if it is at home, is a good win. Gotta run the table at home but love this win.

Teague was the player we’ve all envisioned tonight. By far the best on the floor, played hard, rebounded, scored inside and out and took mainly good shots. Also blocked several shots. Played like a stud all night.
Walton was gassed but gave us some really valuable minutes. Everyone contributed tonight and we had 17 assists on 34 baskets. Pretty outstanding.
Our young guards (Coleman and Bumb) are coming around nicely. Coleman gets a little too greedy during stretches but he’s pretty damn versatile. Better than average passer, driver and hits the boards. Needs to get more consistent on his shooting and his defense is still shaky but overall he’s gonna be pretty good as he ages. Bumb struggles a bit defensively because of his size but he works hard and is pretty gritty.
I have to commend Mallers too. Last year he was mental and so inconsistent on shooting. His work over the summer shows. Through 15 games his shooting has been solid.
2-0 and defending the home court is big, especially with the students back tonight. Gotta defend the home 🌲 if you want them to keep coming.
Its a long season and you can’t win a title in early January but for now no complaints. Let’s see how we fare on the road and as the season progresses. 2 down, 16 to go. Go Cards!

I saw on bsu.edu the attendance was 4811. The only concern I had from the game was Buffalo had 52 of their 68 points in the paint.

Yes Cardfan but we did not have this kind of start to MAC play last year!
This team is very good defensively and will compete for a MAC championship!!

One year your crowing is bound to be backed up by actual results in March. Maybe this is the year. I’ll wait and see where we are in March while recognizing we’re starting on the right foot in January. Over 7 years Whitford has proved nothing so I think being guarded is reasonable. I will be ecstatic if we’re playing for a championship in March.
The MAC doesn’t seem that strong this year so whit better make hay while he can. The upcoming road games will say a lot.

BSU played good D last night (9 TOs w 13 PT off TOs), and shot 48% for FG, 37 for 3PT and 91% for FT. A good night of execution.
Toledo and Buffalo seem weak this year. I think the results of Akron and EMU, on the road, during the next two games will tell us more about this team.
