I think that since CMU knocked off Toledo tonight, UT is knocked out of bye territory. If BSU wins against CMU, they likely get a bye. If they win against CMU but lose to NIU, Kent can still pass them by winning out (including the win at Akron). BSU can lose to CMU and win against NIU and still earn the bye if CMU then loses to WMU and Kent loses to Akron. So...

Swen, yes, I think you are right. I also believe if we win out we are a #2 seed!!

Only way we are a 2 seed is if we have a better record than Ohio. A tie between the 2 teams and Ohio is the 2 seed based on head to head with 2 wins over us.

Right, and if Ohio wins out, it means they are the #1 seed and Akron is #2, unless Akron loses out and then BSU would be #2 (assuming BSU won out).

The way we played today and the way we have played overall on the road this season who can deny the Cards. Some of you are talking about who you wouldn't want to play....the way we played today I suspect not to many want to draw the Cards!!! Exactly. Fear the Bird.

Pardon my ignorance, but I'm back to my previous thread question. If winning your division doesn't get you a 1 or 2 seed and it is solely based on records, then why are there divisions? Makes no sense to me AT ALL.

I agree that they might as well do away with the East and West in basketball if winning the division has no effect on seeding. I know our SOS would be tougher with likely playing more MAC East teams but currently the setup is pointless.

I know our SOS would be tougher with likely playing more MAC East teams but currently the setup is pointless. You know, the East might be overall on average the weaker division by a small margin because BG and Miami are included. Unless we play a complete round robin it is might be impossible to tell whether we would have a slightly tougher or slightly easier overall schedule. Playing BG and Miami twice isn't helping the SOS...The West doesn't have as many top teams, but is strong in the middle of the pack.

Maybe you should take a look. also, in terms of rankings, I am not a fan. There are some BIg Ten teams that are ranked lower than us and I am quite sure we are not beating Illinois, Northwesterns yet. We are better but we need the right match ups to be successful. Any team that plays us zone is nuts. Thank you Eastern. We are closer but I want to see us get more athletic at the point, someone who can beat people off the dribble against good defensive pressure. We are definitely better but still average when it comes to playing better competition. This is not a bad thing. We are moving in the right direction.

Definitely like the progress. Nice to finally have important games this late. Even better knowing we are competitive.
Let's win Tuesday and secure that bye.
Go Cards!

I disagree that we can not defeat any Big 10 teams...we can't really argue the point unless we play one post season which could happen because we will play post season!
Go Cards
PS BSU 0 #130 beats 350?!
