And if a coach came here and had the best MAC recruiting class 4 years in a row, won a championship, attained a #14 national ranking and went to the Cotton Bowl, the members of this board would not only clap when he entered the room, they would crawl across the floor on their bellies to lick his shoes.
And also their entire wardrobe would consist of "row the boat" gear.

If you win you can get away with a lot...remember Bob Knight? I don't remember any "row the boat" or other nonsense. Ego and arrogance I do remember. That Fleck would be as arrogant as BK with so little accomplished is notable.
Whether Woody Hayes or Bob Knight, not only does Fleck have a lot less to be arrogant about, but neither would have gotten away with as much today, they lived each in a different era. I think Fleck has a problem with these reports, both with the University and with recruits and fans.
We know he has a problem with fans here, except the General.

Fleck winning a #14 ranking at BSU? The Cotton Bowl for BSU? Well maybe then...Although I am wondering how he would do that with the best MAC recruiting classes?

Hell I still dont like him but if would not complain too much if Bizarro world happened and he became a coach at BSU We'd sell our souls for a #14 ranking. Of course that might have to be done BEFORE the season, if I remember the Faustian story of "Damned Yankees."

No soul selling we have for the past 8 years seen the effects of those who traded in their moral compasses to worship a psychopath/sociopath who some have referred to as the "Orange Jesus" Coaches who create a cult like atmosphere with hazing and rituals exalting the coach are intended to strip players of their dignity and shift their self worth to follow the coach with mindless loyalty. The big picture? Representing your school and yourself to the best of your ability with the help of a coach as facilitator.

The big picture? Representing your school and yourself to the best of your ability with the help of a coach as facilitator. well, let's see. I need to think about this in terms of the basketball program since I don't give a rat's ass about BSU football. trading in my moral compasses to worship a psychopath/sociopath - Being of high moral character as I am, I would need, at MINIMUM, an additional 5 wins before I would consider this for a basketball coach. players to follow the coach with mindless loyalty - Meh. Don't see the big deal here. Kids today need to show more respect anyway. Would accept for one additional win,,,maybe even an exhibition game. strip players of their dignity and shift their self worth to follow the coach - this is kind of ugly and reprehensible. BUT, if I could get 6 additional wins, with one of those being a post-season win, I could get in line. But anyway, good point about amoral Orange Jesus. Thank goodness we have that squeaky clean, upstanding Biden family in place now.
