What I liked most about the second half is that we expanded the lead with Jihad on the bench with 4 fouls. All 5 players contributed on both ends of the floor. Our depth is still shallow, but it was a very good effort for a road win. The way they were playing without Jihad, not sure I would have brought him back. Not because I thought Nihad couldn’t produce, but to reward those who had played hard.

Watching Jihad "experiment" with dribbling the length of the floor was painful.

......and Pearson is almost as bad with his handles. My opinion: Pearson's lack of production was a major factor in the losing streak. Probably true and in reality he should be a rotation piece 20-25 minutes a game not 35. He’s not a creator nor an above average shooter or rebounder. The fact he starts and must play most of the game is a testament to how thin our bench is.

The fact he starts and must play most of the game is a testament to how thin our bench is. Word good role player on almost all other MAC rosters With 4 strong starters you often need a good role player in the starting lineup, but we usually now have two such role players starting... You'd hope no starter has to play 35 minutes, only a couple 30, and we have maybe 2 guys who playing well should in those good games be playing more than 30. Instead. Often we have 2 role players usually playing that many minutes. I don't see any starters who wouldn't play better with fewer minutes. This is not to mention the times we have no substitute in case of somebody just having a "bad game." That's where freshmen developing or maybe Watts might have made a difference. Jones has stepped in to deserve being in rotation, nobody else.

Agreed. He probably played above his assumed ability during most of the non-conference slate.
