I keep trying to patiently explain that it's not enough to be terrible in order to miss the MAC tourney. You have to be MORE terrible than eight other MAC teams and that's just not very easy to do.
As I have said for a couple weeks, we just need to sweep WMU and we are most likely in. And we have already won at their place.
Our next FOUR games in a row are against teams KenPom ranks lower than us. And his algorithm is very well grounded by this point in the season.

We are absolutely terrible and so frustrating to watch, right? This is the second year for Lewis and for me this year’s record is almost totally on him! I mean come on, who loses 3 key players!!!!!! Lewis that’s who. Who gets out recruited by Whitford? Damn, we are getting blown out at Miami and we will be lucky to break 60! No way we make Cleveland.
Put a fork in us. If we made it to Cleveland, it would most likely mean playing either Akron or Toledo and getting blown-out. Lewis might as well be able to put 100% of his effort to recruiting for next year a few days earlier instead of preparing for a 20+ blow-out in the first round of the MAC Tournament.

I would agree that off season is critical for any type of run at a MAC Championship; Lewis had a lot of hype coming in and was welcomed by all but if you can’t challenge to win the weak MAC in 3 years it would seem to me that you are not likely to do it with 3 more years!
I would not extend him beyond next season without a substantial step forward.

How many more years after this on Lewis' contract? I thought his original contract was for 4 years which would mean 2 more years after this season is over.
With the transfer portal, I think there is less of an argument for a coach needing a lot of length remaining on his contract. Lewis should be able to recruit for next season (2 years to go on contract), or even after next season (1 year to go on his contract). Just hope the BSU Administration doesn't fall into the contract extension trap this year or next without Lewis showing major improvement over this year's disaster.

Are you kidding? The BSU administration DOES NOT TOLERATE FAILURE IN MENS BASKETBALL! No way. No how. End of discussion. The coach either shows results or he is out on his ASS.
So Lewis had better win or else...wait....wait a minute, what's that you say? You say you have some excuses? Oh. Well then that's different. Here coach, sign this three-year extension!

What a pathetic performance. Outscored 50-30 in the second half. Bench points: Miami 29, BSU 2. Jihad almost had a double double with 18 points and 9! turnovers.

Jihad's crazy turnover numbers may reduce his desirability on the portal market somewhat. Just guessing but it seems to me like that would be something an interested coach would think he could fix through good coaching, or at least significantly reduce.
Anyways I myself tend to think it's something good coaching could fix or significantly reduce.

According to previous reports, Lewis signed a 6-year contract in March 2022. If correct, he'll have several more years to win back our love. Certainly not going anywhere for next two years, maybe 3, even if he's poo.

I've lost all confidence in him. The recruiting is a nightmare. Barring a complete roster overhaul starting next month, this program is in a state of hopelessness.
I have a bad feeling his tenure here is going to get VERY ugly.

That was the ugliest first half of basketball I have ever seen. At least Miami righted the ship at the half, Ball U did not. The Cards looked just a sloppy in the second half and got destroyed by Miami! Sad
