Butler and Creighton are selfish schools that never pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to participate in obscure bowls that provide much needed December programming filler for ESPN. Do these schools have no sympathy for poor ESPN?
And what about mid-week football games? How would ESPN fill those slots without the MAC? What will sports bars in Jackson MS use as background noise on weekday evenings? Is the MAC really so hard-hearted and greedy that they can't spare a measly $10M per school per year to help some folks out? What about the tens of season ticket holders that pile into stadiums every week in Muncie and Ypsilanti? What about the priceless TV exposure we get among low-mid income, 40-60 year old white males in Eastern Texas? |
