McDermott and Hoiberg turn down Buckeye job. Great timing by Ohio State to go on a search in mid June.
Anyone see the Buckeye jet land at Delaware Int'l yet?

McDermott and Hoiberg turn down Buckeye job. Great timing by Ohio State to go on a search in mid June. Anyone see the Buckeye jet land at Delaware Int'l yet? Does create another round of musical chairs. tOSU is a pretty good job, they'll get somebody good. And probably with that a staff will move. But, whoever moves there, that team will have a harder time at this date, and if they hire an up an coming young coach, it'll mean somebody down the line where he comes from has a really hard time at this date, has to hire at the last minute. Maybe give a chance to an assistant from some power school. |

I just saw somewhere where McDermott accepted. Not an overwhelming media response to the possibility. Negative spinLukewarmOmaha thinks they keep himtOSU creates an opening that would snag a good high major coaching candidate, and a wherever he comes from that school that would not want to gamble on a replacement. Maybe Tom Crean gets into the game quicker than expected. If Crean did get into the game, and say ended up at Creighton or a similar school, that is not the worst job for him. |
