They certainly were not a big deal when I was a student.. Maybe the Greek life has improved latley |

I remember an article in the BSU Daily News that stated the average GPA of campus frats was was a 1.8....................I really hope that still isn't true.

I'm not sure it was ever true. But I think most of them have really claened up their acts. Most. Still a few numbskulls. |

Since the beginning of the academic year there have been like 5 reported sexual assaults from frat row Three have occurred on Riverside at fraternity addresses. The others have been on-campus, or other off-campus housing, but still, WTF. |

Not even close. The IFC GPA has been above the BSU All Men's GPA every semester since they began posting grade reports in Fall 2006. Good, the article I was referring to was published in the late eighties. Even in the '80s the IFC GPA was around a 2.5 to 2.6. It was below the All Men's at the time, but many changes began in the '90s (mandatory study tables, Learning Center attendance) to make academic performance a priority. In Spring, 2017, the IFC GPA was 2.918. The Panhellenic sororities had a 3.205 GPA, well above the All women's GPA. A lot of work needs to be done now to manage alcohol usage and respect for women. Lots of workshops and programs are being planned, not just for IFC, but for others interested on campus to help change some of the BS that is going on. Considering what passes for "sexual assault" these days, I'm sure that number will go through the roof.
Baseless and frivolous claims are watering down the ability to take true assaults seriously. And ruining the lives of young men in the process.
