Great start to both halves, went inside early and often, Moses and Teague were a wrecking crew tonight. Gunn is living up to his name and has been given the green light by Whitford to take all of the shitty, Ill-timed threes that Teague usually gets. He’s doing a great job of it too! “Yeah, I think Ball State signing me is a pretty big deal for them.” Sit down son and let the men play. I know there’s probably some bad blood between these two after losing on OT up there but Persons needs to stop yapping and doing his little hand gestures at the opposing bench. He’s gonna get teed up and it’s not necessary. That said Del la Rosa their seven-footer is an ass clown and shoulda been teed up too. Great win. BTW I hate 9:00 games on Friday. Did you notice Whit was going to substitute Ish in for Persons when things were getting heated. Instead Persons told whit he was good and Whit took Thompson out. There was a ton of talk between the Kent bench and our players most of the game. I thought for sure someone was getting a T.

Again, we will be as good and go as far as Teague can take us. He's the difference maker. Can't do it alone, but when Tahjai is good ... the Cards are good. Agree 100%. I think if Teague is good, we have a chance to beat any one in this mediocre conference.

Lost in the ups and downs of this MAC season is the following: Ohio: first win since 2011 Kent: first win since 2005 Akron: first win since 2004 That's not a bad series of events for this season. First time we have beat both Kent and Akron in the same season in 20 years I think it's more that they are down, than we are up.

As a side note, I think we are trending upward and I have been a season ticket holder for 24 years, but I've taken a job in KY and won't be attending regularly any more. And I'm not sure Whitford ( I like replacing the W with an S), is that good of a coach. Go Cards!!!

Again, we will be as good and go as far as Teague can take us. He's the difference maker. Can't do it alone, but when Tahjai is good ... the Cards are good. I know what you mean, but Moses, Persons are pretty important. For that matter, we are probably not beating a good team without good games from all the starters and probably need some bench play too! We have not much room for error. And lack of depth will kill us even if we are playing well at the MAC... I understand the desire not to want to diminish others' contributions and I agree we need the whole team to be successful, but ... My point is simply that when Teague plays well, the Cards play well. I don't really think that's the case with any other player. Maybe he's just the player that puts them over the top or maybe his good play actually makes the rest of the team better. With Persons, he can play well and the team may or may not follow suit. Does a great game by Persons mean a great game by the Cards? Not always. For a point guard who's the best player and has hit clutch shot after clutch shot this year, I'm not sure how much better he actually makes his teammates. As for Moses, he can play pretty well — and has recently — and the team can still suck. See EMU. But when Teague has been on, especially during this current iteration of the team since Tyler's removal, good things always seem to happen (see Akron, Toledo, Kent). And when he's not, they still suck (also see EMU).

Teague is a pretty good "basketball athlete" yet we seem to try and get Trey the ball and let him work 1 on 1 inside, which doesn't work well with a team that has an inside player with any hint of coordination. On his own, Trey is just as apt to dribble off his knees as he is to make a basket. Not sure why we don't send Teague inside to draw their good players and then use Moses as the rebound/put back guy or the guy to dish off to. In actuality, when both are inside, most MAC teams don't have guys that can take on both of them.

Teague is the guy to hit the boards. Not as much a post up. He thrives on movement to the basket. And Moses has some talent to find him, and not the offensive rebounding. He is not high motor and agile.
Moses is our best post up player. We've heard a lot of criticism of his ability, but he's playing now as he did this last summer before injured and I agree as long as we can keep both guys in the game we give problems to most MAC teams. Assuming both play with energy.
This will hit snags against really good teams that do match them, will need good shooting outside too. And we will not be able to always play them this many minutes. Fouls, fatigue.
Not much choice now but go this way. Wish we had options, just like we wished we had inside game earlier and did not...
Glad to see Moses, Teague find their game, though. Whitford always wanted to be able to use more inside play, didn't make that much sense the way they were playing, and to have that good bench which made us very good after we finally did have both available. Finally able to, but no options outside...BSU basketball never easy.

Wish we had more athletes to defend, and to isolate, but we're playing hard and can be a tough out when we shoot outside.

Kent is 6-6 in the MAC, it is below .500 overall, and has lost three in a row. We should beat teams like this by twenty. Let's keep it going. GO CARDS GO

Once again, all it takes is a dominating win to keep halfshittime off the thread!!

Intensity and focus are the key. When we come out ready to play we’re really good. When we don’t we lose by double digits. We don’t have the talent to be able to just show up and win so it’s imperative these guys find whatever it is within that’ll drive them to consistently play like they did last night. If they don’t we’ll stay in our win a couple get blown out a couple pattern.

Teague shot-faked several times behind the arc and got his man to commit and then went by him for points... they believe he is going to shoot them! Those oh-fer games were a brilliant decoy and opponents bought it on film! Adonis de La Rosa is one of the all-time great MAC names and definitely should've been teed up for talking to our bench like he did. I thought his size and bulk would give Moses trouble, but Trey absolutely ate him up.

Great emotional, dominating win. I hope we kept the talk on a down low because we will undoubtedly see these guys again...

Very nice win. Teague was excellent. More or less controlled the game start to finish just like the Toledo game. Just need to put a couple strong games together to demonstrate consistency.
