Can people not just sing the National Anthem the way it was intended? It’s not a pop song.

I petitioned the Chicago White Sox to have have her sing the National Anthem on Opening Day.
You set the bar that low on the first day, and the rest of the season will look fantastic. Go Sox Go.

I think she was trying to have sex with the song right there in front of everyone!

Given the anthem is so hard to sing, perhaps the pained expression and moaning has that explanation.
That this group dedicated to among other things sexual fantasy about curling would interpret the poor girls discomfort for sexual desire is I suppose not surprising.

It's not that hard to sing, as long as you do not turn into an audition for a remake of the Fabulous Baker Boys.

I've never understood arguing about music. I thought she did fine.

Ever since Whitney Houston's Super Bowl anthem, singers have been trying to top it. Often with horrible results. Steven Tyler at the Indy 500 comes to mind.
Fergie's wasn't as bad as some I've heard, but she was definitely trying too hard.

Have to agree about how some are far worse, and maybe this is therefore fine...

I got a little of the Happy b-day, Mr. President vibe with that rendition.

I got a little of the Happy b-day, Mr. President vibe with that rendition. Yes, that was the odd part. But, the dignity of the office is probably safe, I'm not sure she'd interest the current President with his Playboy model tastes.
