Going to paraphrase points I remember and found interesting
If you a believe coach speak
Lynch says Riley looks better than he ever has.. He has taking the much discussed next step..
The 3 back set of Gilbert, HUntley and Dunner was mentioned again as something that we will see a lot of. Reports from lasts week scrimmage contradict this as I was told this did happen much or at all.. This could be because Huntley did not play in scrimmage
Wr depth was mentioned.. Good mix of veterans and young guys.. Says who ever practices the best will play says there are guys on starters tails chomping at the bit to get in
Says you have to average 30 points a game to win in todays game that is the goal
All talk was very positive.. He did sneak in a sentence at the end.. We are not there yet and need a lot more practice

Hard to imagine we won’t win at least ten games given how close our losses were last year. 😜🤫

With our d, probably need to average 40 a game.

For a while now, I've felt 28-30 points was that magical area that offenses truly needed to reach to basically "have done their part" to win the game.
If the offense puts up 30 and the team loses, I pretty much put the loss on the shoulders of the defense.
Last year we successfully lost on both sides of the ball. The offense rarely put up 28-30 and the defense rarely held anybody under that.

I think I agree with CF I think 35-40 is the closer number with our D

Let's see him get better at 20-25+ yard passes. We need to open up the short game if we want to get the backfield to be more effective, and to open those quick slant plays.

Yes we must have the ability to throw it deep and actually hit a few. Our bread and butter is hitting those slants over the middle if the safety know we are not throwing deep he can hang out and take away any YAC.

Exactly. For the last 5 years defenses have played 8 in the box against for 40 mins because most of our plays seem to be within 10 yards of the LOS and horizontal.
