Was thinking today in my free time what the most embarrassing loss is for the football team in the past ten years.
I still can't shake that loss to Indiana State. All I remember is walking back to campus with my group and no one said a word. What are your thoughts?

All I remember is walking back to campus with my group and no one said a word. What are your thoughts? The ISU loss in 2014 was probably the worst. I'd also rate the loss to Liberty in 2010 was brutal, as was the New Hampshire loss in 2009, but those are decent D-1 FCS programs. We had North Dakota State beat with 6 or 7 minutes left, and figured out how to give it away in 2006. In 2001, we lost to Northern Iowa. In 2000, we let Western Illinois beat us 24-14. And, in 1984, we let UMass beat us at home. Some would say our 76-0 loss to Kansas State in 2000 was the worst, or the 63-6 loss to Auburn in 2005 (a sanctioned game), or the 56-0 loss to Iowa in 2005 (another sanctioned game), but these were solid Power 5 teams while we sucked. The D-1 FCS losses sting the most, so, the 2014 ISU loss is the worst, and the 2000 Western Illinois loss was the 2nd worst.

Do not let Cardfan12 reply to any more of these posts.
As if being a BSU fan wasn't tough enough. As if the topic was depressing enough ... he just took it to a whole new level.
Shoot us now and put us out of our misery.

I hate losing, but to get schooled by an FCS team, at home, is just not acceptable.
I know. There are some good ones like NDSU, but still.
We'd better not lose to CCSU this August, or some feathers are gonna fly!

FCS schools pull some decent upsets. We are not the only victims. Still, it’s a bad loss and one not to be repeated. Schedule very carefully!

Too many choices.
2017: 46 point loss to NIU 42 point loss to EASTERN F***ING MICHIGAN 41 point loss to Toledo 47 point loss to CMU 52 point loss to WMU
2015: 38 point loss to BGSU 47 point loss to WMU
2014: Loss at home to Indiana F***ING State
2011: 42 point shutout loss to Temple
2010: Loss at home to Liberty 38 point loss to NIU
2009: Loss at home to New Hampshire
2008: 18 point loss to a 7-5 Buffalo team in the conference championship when we were 12-0 and in the national spotlight 32 point loss to Tulsa in the bowl game continuing the epic collapse
2004: 38 point loss to Toledo 38 point loss to BGSU
2003: 46 point loss to Miami
How can we possibly chose?

Most of last years MAC losses were epically bad and embarrassing. The loss to Indiana st at home was supremely embarrassing. Losing to an at the time really bad Georgia st team at home was also embarrassing.
Lots of embarrassment from which to choose.

It's a tough call, but I vote for Liberty because I watched their warmups before the game and knew then they would beat us. ISU was a surprise at the very end, like getting hit right in the nuts.

All I remember is walking back to campus with my group and no one said a word. What are your thoughts? I was at the game and while I did not feel good about it, it was clear that Indiana State wanted the game more and played harder. We have done that when we have beaten IU, Virginia, Navy, etc. I saw the ISU fans and family feel like they had just beaten ND. I remember how I felt at those times and had some emphathy or them. Tough loss, BIG win for ISU - I understand.

The 2006 loss to TSIB in Muncie was a really bad one, considering we were up 17-0 at half, missed an extra point in the 2nd half, and ended up losing 24-23.
Never gonna get them to come back to Muncie.
