Nobody gave us a chance in this game either just like is being said about Notre Dame this season. We led virtually the entire game against Nebraska with only 3:19 left to go in the game did they lead 41-40. A Dante Love wide open dropped pass at the Nebraska 15 for a game winning TD or at minimum a chip shot field goal and we walk out of Lincoln with the win. We had solid running game and receivers and a freshman QB who admitted not knowing the plays very well. Our D was decent but not great by any stretch. I like this team’s quality at RB, receivers and our talented 3 year QB who knows the plays. Our D will be just average again. I totally expect our team to compete with ND! youtu.be/Sh_HlOTbeG4

Once again, that bsu team was much better and more talented and better schemed than the current bsu team and Notre Dame would blow that Nebraska team off the field. There is no comparison. Nd is coming off a bowl win over LSU and we’re coming off, well everyone knows what we’re coming off. I love our Cards but come on. And how is our defense suddenly going to become average. It was beyond atrocious last year.

It was beyond atrocious last year. I beg to differ on several fronts but time will certainly tell how this team will fare. Offensively is where I would disagree the most from our talent standpoint. I will say I had considerable faith in the coaching staff in 2007 and have yet to garner such with this staff. I see little resemblance between last years team and the team that will be on the field against ND. I don’t hold this years ND team in the same high regard as you apparently do either. Having said this certainly I am well aware that we have the potential to get blown out. After avidly watching the Cardinals for half a century and college football in general something tells me this team is going to pleasantly surprise many folks. Defense is my biggest concern but I think the new scheme is much better suited to our personnel. Last years team lost their confidence but early success in game #1 and a solid start against ND could do wonders. The games will soon be upon us and I will be eager to see how everything unfolds.

nd was 10-3 last year and has a very good defense and better size and athletes all over the field. We were 2-10 and winless in the MAC. None of our Mac loses were close or competitive. Our offense should be pretty good but the d? The coaching? Not sure how we suddenly become competitive against a team the level of ND. Even if ND has a down year. It’s not Illinois we’re playing.

I don't disagree with you and think we will probably get smoked by ND, but we were two completely different teams at the beginning of the year and after everybody got injured. We should have beat Illinois and WKU, and beat a decent UAB team. We probably won't be competitive against ND, but I think the MAC season will go much better this year. It might be a long shot, but I'm hoping for 6 wins.

Are there any of these hopes that survive a game or two into the MAC, that is the question?
I think the undefeated season dies very early. 6 wins, that might last longer?
