Anyone else notice that on Yo'Heinz's 63-yard TD he came very damn close to dropping the ball before crossing the goal line? I watched the replay a number of times and he did score, but I will never understand the urge to drop the ball.
I hope Neu or somebody puts a stop to that. Cross the line, hand the ball to the ref, celebrate. In that order.

ALWAYS HAND THE BALL TO THE REF. Don't you think the refs appreciate that gesture? Do that and you can't go wrong. It is hellava lot better than dropping the ball in the corner of the end zone making the ref run over to pick it up while you shake your ass at the crowd. When the refs are running to the far corners to pick up the ball I am sure they are thinking what a privilege to ref this game with these Einsteins.

In short, I'm happy BSU took care of a terrible opponent and it was great to see Neal and Gilbert in a game for the first time in seemingly forever but other than that not much to read into the game due to a lousy opponent.
The bigger problem in Neu's tenure tenure to date has been in conference, be it injuries last yr or collapse in yr 1. They've generally beaten OOC cupcakes. By mid October we will know better on what plane of MAC teams BSU lies than today.

Someone not long ago posted a way to get around the Star Press limit on articles you can read for free. Please post the “how to again” - thanks!

I use Google Chrome. I go to TSP's site, find a story I want to read, then right-click the link for it and choose "Open In Incognito Mode". Works every time.

Where can I see highlights (Yo'Heinz's 63-yarder, etc...)? ESPN isn't giving me squat.

Anyone else notice that on Yo'Heinz's 63-yard TD he was only 3 or 4 yards into the endzone when he dropped the ball? I will never understand the urge to drop the ball.

It really wasn't very close. He was 3 to 4 yards in the end zone when he dropped it. Yeah it was how quick it happened that made the visual illusion he barely got it over. The camera angle also plays into the illusion. I would prefer that WR hold onto the ball, but I can understand wanting to celebrate. May we have many more such controversies! Yo!

Can I get a ruling on the origin of the naming of our prodigious young WR? Was this a tribute to Ketchup or former Steelers great Hines Ward? In either case, is there any significance to adding Yo to the front? Asking for a friend. 😇

twitter.com/MACSports/status/1035347291396292608This is the highlight I watched. The ball is out of his hand on his first step into the endzone and he's in the process of dropping it as he crosses the line. [EDIT: I'm not on twitter but I tried to link the MACSports tweet showing the endzone camera angle and don't know how to make it link.] Maybe a different angle would show it better, but dropping the ball before crossing the goal line is basically the dumbest possible mistake you can make. Why take any chance? He didn't make it this time, but if I was advising Mr. Tyler I'd discourage that particular form of celebration. Nothing to gain and a lot to lose.
