I'm just hoping we master the concept of crossing the goal line with the ball still in our hands. Baby steps.

I’ll pick wku with you. Until our offense proves it can handle a fast defense that will press our WRs I won’t believe we can beat teams like that. We have no downfield game at this point. I knew I could count on you.... I gotta see us do something before I can start picking us Had we played with a pulse against IU I might have picked us but that turd got me thinking of last year That’s the biggest issue, that we didn’t even have a pulse.

Neu's seat will get warmer if this team follows the Bloomington fiasco with another turd.

Neu's seat will get warmer if this team follows the Bloomington fiasco with another turd. Yep another blowout and and he is going to start feeling it.. Ive expected a loss in this one all along so it will not surprise me but it can not be a blowout. If it is that means more blow outs are coming inside the MAC... More Blowouts during conference equals a burnt ass

The home fans need a competitive game. Big crowd, winnable. I don't see a lot of games where we will be favored, and we all want a win, but a good game is important, and the winnable games this year, we can't lose them all, either...

After two straight tough losses we will be fired up. The offense will be crisp and on point. The defense will both get pressure on the QB and play its best possible game. I'm full of confidence. 27-24 BSU.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am excited for today’s game! Today we will learn a lot about this team. Will our offense show up and score TD’s or will our offense stall and lack the big plays like last two weeks? Is this the year our defense finally sees some improvement or do they fall apart like the did last year? Will special teams lose us another game or will that group turn things around and be at least adequate? It seems like none of us really know, but the unknown is part of what makes college football so exciting and great! Go Cards!

Usually takes 5-6 weeks to truly know how good it bad a team is so we are closing in on that. Plus on paper the matchup feels fairly even.

Hitting the road towards Muncie, if there’s a gathering place to chat over the pylon while holding a beer (or bourbon) please let me know, I’ll plan to visit. Go Cards!!! Ok, this is how my trip started: Loaded cooler/food/chairs/misc-check/check/check/check: Throw wifey in truck-check: on the road, ready to get up to Muncie, enjoy football & relax with peoples of the same flock. Phone call, daughter (new driver) hits a mail box with the passenger side mirror - about face head home to assess damages, calm her down - calm wifey down - calm me down. All ok, just going to be out $$$$ for an expensive, color matching mirror assembly. Back on road, arrive early enough for a couple good bourbons & down a bit of food and some football. I think my start of the day yesterday really fits with this years team. Everyone’s ready for a turn around, including the team, but it’s just going to take a minute. We can’t force it, we have to enjoy every step & take every step. We’re young, it’s a proceess. Takes time for everything to come together & there’s always Mr Murphy. I think it’s in the right direction, just need to keep patience a part of it all. She’s a young driver, she’ll be a good driver, but there’ll be some bumps & scraps, a new mirror along the way. Just need to let her learn and be thankful she’s getting there without any major problems along the way.

That’s a pretty good outlook. I don’t totally disagree. However, the problem is it doesn’t appear our young drivers and their leader are learning from their youthful mistakes. That’s the bigger issue. They, including staff, are making the same mistakes they were making 3 years ago. The personnel have changed some but the mental and physical mistakes are the same and we continue to find ways to lose, not win. To me at least that’s what most disconcerting. The offense should be much better than it is. We struggle to get anything done even with a vet qb, rb, and WRs.
Wku lost to Maine. Cmu beat Maine yesterday. Wku still hasn’t decided on a qb. We just cannot lose that game yesterday. But we found a way. How long do we continue to be patient?

I like your post, I agree with a lot of it, how do you keep continuity enough with what seems to be recruited with the adjustments that are needed. I think maybe some adjustments to some of the staff while maybe keeping some of the overall framework. I think this current staff is getting the right incoming recruits in, just the youth is killer. Won’t repost everything, but went into some thoughts under “Neu’s hotseat” thread.

I don’t see Neu as a guy willing to tweak his staff. (If he was he’d have replaced the special teams coordinator after last year. Brutal).
We’re in a tough spot, quite honestly. Timing isn’t great.
