Ok, I did not pick a win at Purdue although I said take the 13 1/2 and it would be 10 or less...lucky, but correct. Now, I'm going way out here and projecting a win straight up over Virginia Tech!!!!! And, if we get by VT we could see Alabama but thats not for certain...they play a very good team. I'd love to play Purdue again on a neutral court and I bet so would our Cards. Lets see how bad they want it!!!! ?

Virginia tech doesn’t have much side inside but they have some pretty long guards. I think this can be a game we can win.

Quick look over at the Hokies forum and they are thinking the same way we are.

VT will be tougher, quicker, and more athletic than us. (Many teams are tougher than us) And they have a 6’10 kid who’ll give us fits inside. I think we can compete with them but playing on the road I don’t think we’ll win. They have two bigger guards who can really score and I think we’re still a bit challenged offensively.
Our team that played the first 24 minutes at Purdue can play with a lot of teams but if we fall back into soft and passive like the second half then VT will run us off the floor. We need to be in attack mode. And Mallers and Hazen have to give us something.

Cards shouldn’t even show then CF Cmon Rusty! Use some freaking common sense for crying out loud. Virginia Tech is in the ACC and currently in the top 30. Card Fan is telling the truth which does not mean we cant give them a go. It will be tough but the difference in Athletes will be telling.

Really need Trey ready to play. Physically and mentally. He sometimes up and down, especially after some kind of trouble. Coach has a challenge with handling that right. You have to play him and have confidence in him, let him find his way back I guess. But right now he isn't acting like he is 100% out there.
I wonder how long that will take. But we need him, when he's good he's a big plus. This isn't just a "soft personality." Not lazy or just "soft" we have seen him play with energy. I hate trying to mind read these kids, very likely to be dead wrong, but to me he looks restrained and overly cautious, worried and fearful to go full speed. More than just simple lack of confidence.

Whit just needs to put him out there and tell him to let it fly. (Sounds simple, I know). But only way at this point.

You have to avoid letting him fail too much though, if this depression related. He fails and he blames himself and is hurt worse. It is tricky dealing with depression.

Success can breed success, that we can hope for in baby steps at least..
