Huh? The answers are obvious. Add seating to stadiums that nobody will ever sit in. Zillion dollar indoor practice facilities. More palatial coaching offices. A new uniform and helmet for every game. More, more, more student fees and taxpayer dollars. Ha, ha! This has really helped the MAC!

I really like Ball State football, as shown by the number of years I have had season tickets and all the home and away games I have attended - and always will. However, itâs not a question of what level you play, itâs more a question of being competitive. The Cards were pretty much up until 2000, then the landscape began changing. The MAC did not stay up with it, for whatever reason. The MAC has not shown the desire to walk he extra mile to stay up with even the Group fo Five schools. Love the schools in the MAC, disappointed at the MACâs commitment. What to do, darned if I know when the MAC teams enjoy where they are in D1.

The MAC blew out a Mountain West team, lost 2 games that they very easily could have won, and got beat pretty bad in the others. They were a few plays away from a .500 bowl season. Not as terrible as it may seem if you just look at the record.

The MAC has continued to spend. More than BSU, yet still not enough. Indoor facilities, coaching salaries, promotion.
Western and Northern have had some notable success. Still, not enough to justify the spending.
I 100% agree we should have the goal of competing, but I guess I disagree about how much to invest. And staying in FSB does not look like a good investment.

But, the record is what you are. Close doesnât count. True, but everyone is making it sound like the MAC isnât competitive. That isnât the case in most of these games. Maybe they should cut it back to the top 4 teams in the league and there would be better results.

My bad. I made a math error on the MAC %. It is actually 20.6% over the last 6 years.
I may be mistaken, but most of the time our conference is paired against âthe group of fiveâ. It would really be bad if the MAC were playing equal number of games against power 5 conferences and group of 5 conferences. Realistically, the MAC is trailing dog amongst the trailing dog conferences.

When virtually any team that can come close to sniffing a winning record gets a bowl invite this is what you get. Crap.
