15 years ago MAC coaches would have rated BSU the runaway #1. That's all on our "leadership".

I actually have a strange appreciation for the P.O.D. Thompson. He was at least a break in the 18 year monotony of hiring and extending underperforming coaches and making lame excuses for them year after year after year. Thompson came and went quickly and provided something out of the ordinary.

On top probably, but the seeds were already sown for it's downfall by poor leadership, probably long before that. We were not taking care of that status. Actually we didn't really do that much earlier in hiring Ray. The AD feared players and fans revolting and that was a convenient low cost choice that worked out well. Not one designed to take advantage of a unique chance to build on unprecedented success.
